Job Description

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst (Accounting & Controls Support) is a key member in the Australia, NZ, & South Pacific office's business team. The role is responsible for ensuring that business processes initiated across the assigned territories are operated in an effective & compliant manner, & are in adherence to established policies & procedures. The role works collaboratively with the controls functions (especially Controllership, Compliance & Legal) & with various business functions to implement & maintain a robust controls framework, provide training on corporate policies & procedures, & will liaise with stakeholders on remediation actions required.

This role reports to the Country Controller to maintain activities & processes that allow the Business to run effectively & efficiently by focusing on:

Accounting administration functions, analyzing financial records, & operational performance
Build positive working relationships across the business & at all levels
Supporting the business with their respective business opportunities in providing commercial advice & of relevant policies & procedures.
Implementing a continuously improving controls & process framework that complies with Visa policy & procedures.
Develop remediation plans to address identified issues impacting the controls & processes environment.

Preparation of financials for business on a monthly basis, including P/L, Balance Sheet & Cashflow Statements Management reporting & variance analysis
Preparation of tax reporting requirements including income tax, GST, FBT, & employment taxes & communication with different stakeholders on ad-hoc reporting matters
Timely review of Travel & Entertainment expenses, highlighting exceptions, & clearly articulating requirements to business
Receipt & payment of income & expenditure
Provide consultative support to assist the Australia, NZ, & South Pacific Businesses in supporting business opportunities to achieve a positive outcome for the customer & ensuring compliance to policies & procedures
Provide commercial advisory to the Business & seen as a "go to" subject matter expert on policies & procedures
Represent the voice of the business teams to ensure the needs of the business are represented in developing & delivering effective controls, processes & procedures
Accountable to the Controllership organization to ensure consistency in AP wide approach to delivering guidelines to executing business in accordance to policies & procedures, & reviewing proposed policy exceptions
Develop metrics reporting & analytics of implemented processes that measure risk & support continuous business improvement activities
Develops & maintains procedures & standard processes to assess, report, & remediate operational risk & compliance-related issues; provides regular self-assessment reporting to Country Controller
Partners with controls Business Units including, Legal, Compliance, Finance, & Sourcing to develop & maintain procedures, controls, & standard processes to assess, report, & remediate operational risk & compliance-related issues; provides regular self-assessment reporting to Country Controller


Tertiary education (CA / CPA qualified or advanced on completing this qualification) & excellent technical accounting skills
Prior work experience in business operations, compliance, audit, or risk with focus on operational controls
6 -10 years of business experience including supporting senior leadership
Strong Audit, business controls, compliance & risk function experience desired
