Job Description

The Visa Business Solutions Commercial Product Team has responsibility for the Global Market P&L & product vision for Visa's commercial solutions including creation of issuer segment strategies, commercialization of new & enhanced products & services, research & thought leadership, & product engagement with our issuing financial institutions & partners. The team serves financial institutions & their downstream clients by providing payment products & services to the large & middle market corporate/multinational companies, governments & commercial supply chain/B2B segments. The Product Team works collaboratively with the Commercial Platform & Commercial Sales Team as well as other regions, ensuring alignment of market positioning across all areas of Commercial.

The Senior Director, Commercial Public Sector Product Lead will be responsible for our Public Sector Commercial business, strategy definition, & how we take these products to market on a regional & global basis. This senior-level role will lead the Commercial Product Team engagement with issuers & technology companies supporting Visa's most strategic public sector clients, in close coordination with the Visas Partnership, Platform & Commercial Specialized Sales team members. In addition, the role involves working with the extended Commercial Product Team to identify gaps as well as new requirements for Innovative Federal solutions that meet issuer & end client needs.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with global team members, Review, Define & Own the Commercial Public Sector strategy in the market.

  • Demonstrate industry leadership for the Public Sector business across the issuer community for commercial products through market-driven knowledge; execute on specific purchasing, travel & vertical strategies to drive PV & revenue goals for Commercial line of business.

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of Public Sector vertical for the Commercial Product team.

  • Oversee commercialization of Visa Commercial Government Solutions for the NA Market & Globe across different client segments.

  • Define & prioritize a strong operating model with Visa's technology partners on specific Government/PS Enhancements & Product specifications, & performance monitoring.

  • Coordinate Globally across, Commercial Product teams & other internal Visa teams to ensure global alignment of solution offerings to the public sector vertical.

  • Align work with Specialized Sales & Account Executives including the creation of client facing marketing collateral, sales presentations, & acting as product SME for product calls with our financial institution customers.

  • As gaps/new requirements are identified, collaborate with the Commercial Product Teams (e.g. B2B, Reporting & Travel, Data) to define & prioritize these enhancements/ requirements for development.

  • In working with issuers & partners, engage the Commercial Product Team SMEs to define & validate custom solutions/integrations to ensure that the proposed offerings align with the broader Commercial Product strategy.

  • Strategize with partners on major initiatives & opportunities, leveraging customer interactions to identify new & enhanced products & services.

  • Using known or collected electronic payments industry knowledge to drive new product opportunities for our issuers & downstream clients.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

12 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree; 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Federal Financial Management & Acquisition Regulations, preferably with experience working in or supporting government programs.

  • Senior Leader with extensive experience (12-15+ years) in Product/Strategy & P&L management, preferably in Commercial card.

  • Knowledge of all electronic payment types including Commercial card payments experience.

  • Ability to structure, manage, & coordinate complex cross-functional teams including technical & non-technical resources.

  • Strong results-oriented leader; analytic & fact-based consultative discipline.

  • Add value to customers by insightful & thoughtful questioning, offering new ideas, & delivering solutions.

  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, & flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral & writing capabilities.

  • Ability to work with leading industry partners & negotiate effectively to achieve desired outcome.

  • Able to work independently & in a matrixed environment.

  • MBA or equivalent work experience required.

Additional Information

Travel Requirements

This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit & stand at a desk, communicate in person & by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones & computers, & reach with hands & arms.
