Hi, we're Oscar. Were hiring a Regional Vice President to join our Insurance team.

About this role:

The Market P&L Group is responsible for overseeing & maximizing risk-adjusted profitability across Oscars book of business. As leader of a region for our Market P&L Group, the Regional  Vice President is accountable for managing the results across a variety of lines of business & markets associated with approximately $500M in  premiums, generated from over 120K members. They will ensure we achieve critical financial targets & work with stakeholders across the company to drive growth, profitability, & quality member & provider experiences with Oscar. Furthermore, the Regional VP will ensure that our strategic vision & financial interests are reflected in the networks we build, while continually improving our existing operations, so we can continue on our path of establishing Oscar as a nationally trusted brand in healthcare. 

Responsibilities:

As a Regional Vice President, you will collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to drive Oscars business goals in compliance with regulatory requirements, develop business strategies in support of overall goals, & shape our most critical provider system deals. You will oversee a team focused on developing provider executive relationships within Oscars current & expansion markets, negotiating a portfolio of active deals, optimizing the economics of the portfolio on a risk-adjusted basis & collaborating across the Oscar organization to service our providers & members.

Key responsibilities:

  • Shape, maintain & oversee the business plan for your markets.

  • Generate financial insights that will ensure Oscars long-term sustainability, & work with internal departments & leaders to execute on these insights. 

  • Develop & maintain relationships with key hospital & provider systems & oversee transactions within your market.

  • Ensure a high-quality Oscar experience for members & providers through collaboration across the firm.

  • Lead the analysis of potential new product lines & strategies to grow existing product lines & markets. 

  • Ensure a high standard of excellence for both expansion & existing operations within your market.

  • Serve as a senior ambassador across the company & externally for Oscars commercial interests including interaction with state regulators. 

  • Attract & retain talent both within your direct & matrix reporting teams.

  • Contribute as a member of the Oscar Insurance leadership team & as a senior leader within Oscar. 

About You:

  • 10+ years of healthcare industry experience, prior P&L responsibility, & a strong leadership & client-facing background. 

  • Track record of successfully managing business units & economic drivers with a multi-year trajectory; particularly identifying & transforming key healthcare financial drivers.

  • A strong financial/analytical background, & the ability to quickly digest & evaluate complex financial structures & large amounts of data in order to make commercially intelligent business decisions. 

  • Executive presence & ability to communicate with & lead presentations for senior leaders, including C-level executives both internally & externally. 

  • Strength in negotiations involving complex economics & communication thereof with internal & external stakeholders.

  • Orientation towards designing processes systematically while being able to execute quickly within a fast-paced, fluid & goal-oriented environment.

  • Track record of success operating in a matrixed environment influencing teams that are not direct reports

  • Proven ability to build & retain high functioning teams with a variety of skill sets & motivations

  • Willingness to share expertise & educate staff & colleagues on healthcare industry trends, concepts & market dynamics

A plus, but not required:

  • An MBA or other professional degree from a top-tier program with a clear track record of excellence.

  • Experience with growth-stage enterprises & scaling departments & processes.
