About the Team

At Fanatics, our Business Affairs & Legal team plays an integral role into why we are the #1 licensed sports, omni-channel retailer. This team is known for negotiating & drafting long-term, exclusive deals with professional sports teams, universities, event promoters, & athletes. They are trusted advisors in counseling our business teams with day-to-day matters as well as key strategic initiatives. This division is critical to the success of the overall company strategy & our mission to become the #1 Fan Brand in the world.

The Director, Business Affairs, is responsible for structuring, negotiating & advising on a wide variety of business matters, including deals relating to Fanatics' ecommerce, wholesale, licensing, memorabilia & retail operations businesses. The position will report to the Senior Vice President, Business Affairs.

Job Responsibilities

    Assist with, provide support for and/or directly handle the evaluating, structuring, negotiating & implementing of a wide range of agreements as well as the ongoing supervision of those deals;
    Work closely & collaboratively with multiple groups within the company (including the business & operational units (e.g., Legal, Finance, etc.) throughout all stages of a deal & its execution, including to compile & help prioritize the deal points from the various business units, communicate & champion best practices, & at all times to operate in & be a proponent for the best interest of the company;
    Manage certain business aspects of the business, such as oversight of player relationships, media partner ecommerce initiatives, Better Brands platform, etc.;
    Advise & support executives & teammates on key business issues & rights matters,
    Assist in closing revenue-generating deals in support of strategic partnerships & business development across existing & new business lines; and
    Proactively address challenges in both internal & external environment to protect business interests.
 
Required Skills & Abilities:
    JD Degree Preferred (although this is not a legal position);
    Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Legal and/or Business Affairs ;
    Experience structuring, negotiating & implementing complex deals (preferably with experience in ecommerce, licensing and/or retail) ;
    Superior analytical & writing skills & ability, together with strong business & financial acumen & problem-solving skills;
    Strong negotiation skills, both as an individual & with a team;
    Ability to strategize & think creatively;
    Exceptional organizational, prioritization & time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple, high-priority projects, with a keen attention to detail;
    Professional, confident demeanor & a team player;
    Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion & independent, sound judgment; &
    Must excel in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment.
