About the Team:

The Marketing Strategy & Product Marketing team is a core group within RTRs Brand team that guides critical business decisions through research & strategic analysis. The team is responsible for infusing deep customer-centricity into business decisions & the holistic user experience & leading key initiatives to drive growth & retention.  Leveraging consumer, competitive, & cultural insights, we define the customer vision & job to be done for our product & marketing experiences. The team works in partnership with leaders across the org & serves as the key point-of-contact in the areas of customer strategy, marketing strategy, & GTM. Our mission is to keep the organization navigating toward our North Star in the short & long term.

The team is highly visible throughout the organization & in particular to the senior leadership of RTR who depend heavily on the insights & perspectives from the team to inform important decisions in the ongoing growth of the business.

About the Job:

We are seeking a Manager, Researcher that will conduct research & analysis to  inform strategic business decisions across Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Communications, Creative, & Product teams. They will translate research learnings & results into story-driven analyses that clearly communicate findings & implications for cross-functional stakeholders. They will manage several key projects for the team, inclusive of both qualitative & quantitative methodologies. Above all, we are looking for someone who is both a skilled researcher & strategist uncovering not just what people think & feel, but integrating it with outside context, & helping translate what it means into communication plans & executions. This person will report to the Senior Director, Head of Marketing Strategy & Product Marketing.

What Youll Do:

  • Build & maintain a deep understanding of the target & current RTR customer (demographics, psychographics, wants/needs, etc.) through diverse research methods with outputs that include user segmentation, persona development, customer journey mapping, & more
  • Synthesize research findings into actionable insights for cross functional teams
  • Use research-driven insights to surface short & long-term innovation. opportunities that address key consumer wants/needs, unlock new growth, & help advance RTR towards its north star vision
  • During the Product Discovery phase, partner with product marketing to uncover research-driven insights to inform the customer & user experience strategy 
  • Manage qualitative & quantitative research to inform key business initiatives & marketing priorities, collaborating with senior team members on certain strategic projects 
  • Conduct creative research, including moderating qual groups 
  • Track brand KPIs over time to help the marketing team understand brand health
  • Lead day-to-day project management of research efforts

About You: 

You are an experienced researcher with deep understanding of a wide range of qualitative & quantitative research methodologies. You know exactly when to engage with cross-functional teams, what questions to ask, where to probe, & how to implement the most effective research strategies. You are a creative problem-solver who seeks to deeply understand the business so that you can define the most meaningful & strategic research plans. You thrive in a fast-paced environment & enjoy setting your own research goals, managing load & expectations, & delivering impactful research findings & recommendations. Youre passionate about RTR & believe great experiences are always inspired by a deep understanding of the user.

  • You have a passion for prototyping new/innovative research methodologies to continuously press against the cutting edge of consumer/user research.
  • You have experience conducting primary & secondary research across mixed methodologies (quantitative + qualitative research)
  • You have an analytical mindset with an ability to quickly grasp the business & marketing landscape
  • You are a customer experience enthusiast & passionate about creating great user experiences you anticipate user needs & always advocate for them
  • You have strong project management skills & experience managing multiple competing priorities
  • You are a great cross-functional collaborator, able to give & get feedback from designers, product managers, writers, & marketers
  • You thrive in a fast-paced organization & enjoy working hard. You take initiative & are energized by challenges. You take pride in the quality of your work.
