GitHub helps companies & organizations succeed by allowing them to build better software together. The revenue team is looking for an Inside Account Manager to develop, manage & grow relationships with GitHubs existing customer base of businesses. The Account Management team plays a pivotal role in the retention & overall satisfaction & trust of our customers, as well as expand our product footprint with these customers. The ideal candidate will have sales & relationship management experience combined with a passion for learning about the GitHub platform & our competitive advantages & building strong connections with our customers.


  • Actively work to maintain strong relationships with GitHubs existing customer base while identifying opportunity for growing adoption
  • Work cross-functionally & collaboratively with internal teams (sales, customer success, deal-desk, ops) to ensure timely renewals
  • Innovate & iterate on the contract renewal process to retain & grow customers while mitigating churn
  • Work with GitHub tools & technology to keep accurate customer & forecast information
  • Partner with the Solutions Engineering team to ensure technical accuracy & delivery to customers
  • Understand how customers are using GitHub & collaborate with them to ensure they get the most out of the GitHub platform
  • Learn about customers successes & challenges, share customer feedback with GitHub, & advocate for customer interests

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of proven renewals experience, sales, account management, and/or consulting experience managing SAAS accounts
  • Curiosity & drive to understand customer business goals, anticipate future needs, & identify solutions
  • Strong customer orientation, dedication, & passion for delivering a great customer experience
  • Ability to assess & understand customer needs
  • Problem solving around technical, product, & business questions
  • Excellent communication & writing skills
  • Collaborative & team oriented
  • Interested in Git & GitHub
  • SalesForce experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Git & GitHub workflows
  • Strong & technical aptitude & ability to become deeply fluent in GitHubs technology & the industry
  • High energy & positive attitude
  • Ability to take initiative & build customer trust with empathy
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
  • Flexible (ability to work across different time zones) & able to think quickly
  • Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work-ethic; self-directed & resourceful
