Moda Operandi is seeking an Assistant Buyer who will support the Footwear & Accessories category Buyer in the development & execution of merchandise assortment & buying plans & achieving the sales & profit targets based on the seasonal business plan. This is a hybrid role with 1 day a week in our Brooklyn NYC office required.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Buyer with the development of merchandise assortments, sales, & inventory plans for assigned merchandise departments
• Execute the Trunkshow process, ensuring the timeline & vendor expectation is managed in an efficient way
• Maintain Rolling OTB in season 
• Produce reports for the buyer to analyze sales trends, project merchandise requirements for assigned departments
• Work closely with the buyer to balance inventories & build appropriate assortment models to maximize performance
• Communicate with the stylist & editorial teams regarding new brands, trends, opportunities
• Monitor shipments, deliveries, RTVS & transfers
• Communicate product knowledge to stylist team
• Seek out globally emerging & market leading brands
• Execute appropriate processes & decisions across the organization

Qualifications:

• 2 years experience in the Assistant Buyer role, preferably in the luxury sector
• Keen sense of fashion, the market & strong industry relationships
• Strong understanding of Merchandising financials, retail math & the ability to manage profitability
• Proficient in Word & Excel
• Must be detailed oriented with high level analytical skills
• Excellent organizational, presentation & communication skills
• Team player & relationship builder
• Flexible, nimble, able to maneuver in a fast-paced & high-growth environment
