The Poker Operations Manager is an advocate for poker & responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the poker offering on PokerStars USA platforms. Core components of the role include analysis of game performance, recommendation & implementation of changes to the offering, planning of promotions, oversight of usage of new features & games, participation in poker policy discussions, & communicating directly with customers.

Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Oversee the deployment & management of the poker game offering
  • Recommend & implement changes to the poker offering to optimize it to specific USA needs based on liquidity & player preferences
  • Request & manage data projects in coordination with Business Intelligence with the aim of providing policy change recommendations
  • Request new development tasks based on player & business needs & ensure that all central development features are properly utilized for the USA
  • Provide timely reports regarding performance to management as required
  • Closely review & manage tournament guarantees to meet the tournament overlay budget
  • Assist Poker CRM with the creation & management of the poker promotional calendar
  • Craft player-facing communications, including but not limited to announcements regarding tournament schedules, promotions, policy changes,
  • Handle escalations from Customer Support for a variety of poker & software/technical issues
  • Research & submit technically proficient bug reports when a problem with the gaming software or back office tools is discovered

What we're looking for in our next teammate 

  • 5+ years of experience working in an operational capacity
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, or commensurate online gaming industry experience
  • Exhaustive knowledge of poker, including all game & betting variations, industry trends, familiarity with poker public figures, & understanding of the basics of game theory
  • In-depth knowledge of the PokerStars client, including features & promotions
  • Significant experience playing online poker
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas & arguments clearly & efficiently in writing
  • Willingness to work long & often unusual hours
  • Intermediate or better Microsoft Word & Excel skills
