Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate to join our Employee Relations team in Temp AZ.

About the role:

The Employee Relations team is responsible for ongoing engagement with Oscar employees & maintaining a pulse on culture, attrition, thematic employee grievances & setting a consistent standard for solutioning. The team oversees activities across the organization related to employee/labor relations, policy adherence, investigations, & risk mitigation.

Your primary responsibility will partner with management & employees to identify & resolve employee issues in a manner consistently with Oscar procedures. You will work with departments in & outside of the People Team including close partnership with Oscar's legal counsel. In this role you will serve as someone for all things ER.

You will report into the Senior Manager, Human Resources. This is a remote role, you will work remotely in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Note, this list of states is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the HR connection through the employment lifecycle -- stay interviews, exit interviews, & employee grievances.
  • Comply with federal & state employment law regulations
  • Manage employee relation issues & work with additional teams when needed for EEOC, investigations, & formal HR complaints.
  • Use Oscar's case management system for people related issues such as: complex ER issues, high risk disciplinary actions, legal issues (harassment, discrimination, accommodations..), policy interpretation & investigations.
  • Build relationships with leaders at all levels while maintaining objectivity
  • Add flair/creativity to the way we do HR. Always looking for ways to be more efficient, & creative!

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
  • 3+ years of employee relations experience
  • Experience applying common HR policies, fair labor laws, & employee relations protocols
  • Excellent verbal & written communications with the ability to break down complicated topics into simple terms
  • Knowledge of employment laws, EEOC Requirements, STD/FMLA, Reasonable Accommodation, FLSA/wage-hour laws.
  • Experience conducting investigations of harassment allegations, including sexual harassment, hostile work environment, discrimination, retaliation, unethical practices, workplace behavior.
  • Experience at scaling organization
  • A "no job too big or small" ownership attitude

Bonus points:

  • HR certifications (i.e. SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP)
  • Privileged user experience with HR Info Systems, e.g., Bamboo, Namely, Workday
  • Experience with Case Management Software (CMS), e.g., ServiceNow HR, HR Acuity, i-Sight
  • Experience in tech
