What Youll Do:
Lead software engineering team in a fast-moving, data-driven environment to improve search experience & performance for millions of users across millions of cars globally. Duties include: own multiple business-critical software applications; collaborate with product management, data analysts, & other engineers to identify & scope software development opportunities; monitor & improve performance of products & solutions; contribute towards roadmap definition for software product development; collaborate with engineering team to plan quarterly milestones; collaborate with software development team to determine the departments yearly objectives; provide technical leadership, clarify & identify key design requirements, lead code reviews, & provide expert technical inputs on architecture, design, & software development decisions; ensure team writes clean, well-tested, & efficient code; provide leadership, mentoring, & coaching to software engineers in the team; make sure projects are running on time, troubleshoot obstacles to team goals, & review projects through all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for quality & accuracy; & assist in department recruiting, interviewing & onboarding of new employees.
Who You Are:
Requirements: Masters degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field & two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Java or similar object-oriented languages; Web tier technologies & various application development frameworks such as HTTP, RESTful APIs, Spring framework, Hibernate; Web based application development & Internet protocol concepts such as IP, SSL/TLS, HTTP, & DNS; & MySQL or similar relational databases.
