What youll do:

As a Production Specialist you will be a member of the Production & Management Teams. In this role, you will plan & coordinate multiple small to mid-size events & support the day-to-day operations on-site. Production Specialists also support the work of the operations staff, serve as the liaison between facility users & the facility staff, service providers, & other stakeholders, & are active in the profitable management of concession operations. We need someone with strong communication skills, both written & verbal, that can ensure effective communication between clients & production, as well as someone with strong attention to detail & team work skills. You will need to be service-minded & client focused, with the ability to determine our clients needs & propose creative solutions.

  • Serve as liaison between client & operations
  • Effectively communicates both verbally & written, with all level of associates, clients, & all Convene departments in an attentive, friendly, courteous, service-oriented manner
  • Comply with Convene regulations to encourage safe & efficient conference center operations
  • Work closely with the Sales Department to prepare pre-program cost estimates
  • Assist Production Managers in getting clients through the contract phase
  • Determine program needs & conduct client site visits
  • Profitably manage Convenes provided services
  • Responsible for supporting the Production Managers with creation & distribution of PEOs (Program Execution Orders) & program diagrams
  • Responsible for maintaining Convene registration desk: greeting & checking clients in
  • Completion of all participant security badges
  • Work in conjunction with building manager & building security
  • Conduct daily site inspections of all conference center areas for cleanliness & maintenance
  • Assist clients & participants with any requests day of program
  • Create final invoices & collect program balances
  • Maximize efforts toward productivity, identify problem areas & assist in implementing solutions
  • Attend weekly production meeting & daily PEO meetings
  • Responsible for printing daily menus & signage for each program
  • Responsible for shipping, receiving, & storage of program materials
  • Conducts administrative support when necessary
  • Perform additional duties as requested by Production Manager and/or General Manager
  • Employ customer service & interpersonal skills aligned with Convene Core Values, GRIT
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Convene standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the conference center

What we look for:

  • Minimum High School graduate/GED
  • Minimum 2 years hospitality experience
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with clients
  • Ability to work well with other team members
  • Customer focused & client serving
  • Strong attention to detail & professionalism
  • Flexible & long hours sometimes required.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull & place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Reach overheard & below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, & stooping
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
