Department Summary
Part of the global Product org, Visa's Innovation & Design team is a global client facing organization that sets Visa's public innovation narrative, supports our clients to accelerate their innovation agenda & transform their consumer digital experiences, & promotes hands on incubation & rapid prototyping to demonstrate the art of the possible for clients & partners. Innovation & Design runs Innovation Centers in various regional offices. This role focuses on Visa's European region, based out of our London Innovation Center.

Job Scope
Our dynamic & start-up-like team of designers, developers, facilitators & creative strategists is looking for a talented individual to help bring new solutions to life, from imagination to commercialization. This includes identifying & prioritizing opportunities through the discovery phase, shaping strategic roadmaps & using human-centered design & agile principles to deliver projects that create innovative payment / commerce experiences.

Core Role: To shape & lead strategic engagements based on design thinking methodologies for some of Visa's largest clients & strategic partners across Europe.

Core responsibilities

  • Client Engagements & Strategy

    • Plan, structure & facilitate strategic client engagements - use design thinking methodologies to help banks, merchants, fintechs, technology companies & other partners in Visa's ecosystem discuss, prioritize & deliver future payment experiences

    • Coordinate support & inputs required for engagements, including from Visa & client stakeholders, designers, technology / engineering teams & other contributors

    • Build client engagement content (e.g, use case of a new technology in payment), based on primary & secondary research & interviews with Visa's experts, & translate into client material (e.g., presentation, talking points, demos, videos)

    • Develop a strong understanding of Visa's payment services & capabilities, & technical foundations

  • Solution Design Delivery

    • Work in small multi-disciplinary teams including product, design, technology & strategy to deliver impactful solutions to complex consumer & business problems for clients & partners

    • Scope project plans, create key project deliverables such as insights presentations, stimuli/creative boards, concept summaries, workshop agendas & activities

    • Lead agile design delivery sprints that involve customer needs/pain points discovery, design, services design & solution development

    • Manage & support junior team members assigned on project

    • Determine success criteria & KPI's - track & monitor progress

  • Research & Insight

    • Partner with the design team to conceptualize & define research methodologies that solve complex challenges & uncover customer behaviours, pain points, needs & aspirations

    • Define research (e.g. format, scope, consumer profiles, interview guides, survey content etc)

    • Manage research agencies/partners as required

    • Actively monitor developments in payments & current & future trends that impact the payment industry

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of product development lifecycles, divergent exploration, concept development prototyping, testing, future visioning, & strategy development

  • Natural communicator & storyteller with passion for promoting ideas effectively - show openness to new ideas, modifying viewpoints & direction in light of new information

  • Strong business acumen & ability to translate human insights into commercial outcomes

  • Inspirational & motivational people management & leadership skills - actively promotes an environment of inclusion & diversity of thought
  • A keen balance between creativity, commercial aptitude, intellectual curiosity & program management
  • Energetic, positive & motivated when tackling challenging problems
  • Technical Skills - MS Office, PowerPoint, Keynote, Sketch etc
  • Service & design thinking methodology experience preferable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Design, Business, Commerce, or Technology (MBA highly desirable)

  • Commercial experience with experience instrategy/innovation consulting or product development/solution design in ecommerce or SAAS having developed digital strategies, & implemented new products to market

  • Must have demonstrated experience in running sprints that involve needs discovery (ethnographic research), design, services design & solution development

  • Experience working in client facing & client workshop facilitation, project-driven environments & teams

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic startup-like team environment with a diverse team
