About the job
This position is needed to be the Principal Product Manager leading Twilios Messaging Workflow platform team.
Twilios SMS business is growing rapidly with a great many customers with differing needs & an ecosystem of many hundreds of providers around the world that are used to deliver messages. We have a compelling vision of how the messaging traffic from such customers utilizes this choice of supply to meet both the needs of the customer & expectations of the ecosystem. Our Messaging Workflow team is the core backbone of delivering messages to customers. It processes many billions of messages per month, requiring high scalability & reliability. Many other teams rely on integrating their services with the Messaging Workflow to deliver their features to customers.
We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to work with our engineering teams to expand upon & deliver this vision. This person will work with architects & engineering to define the architecture, services & APIs that evolves this core platform.
In this role, youll:
Act as a leader, not just setting direction for an engineering team, but for your product, its customers & business outcomes.
Communicate with stakeholders, other product managers & engineering teams across the globe, from product vision to specifications to product performance analysis, you will be writing & regularly represent your product & your team to upper management.
Take large, ill defined, & complex ideas & compose clearly articulated requirements, plans & roadmaps & work with teams to deliver them on time.
Prioritize across customers & stakeholders to develop a roadmap & communicate priorities both to engineering teams & customers.
Work with your colleagues to align on vision & build a roadmap that we can execute based on broad, company-wide, mission statements.
Develop a clear point of view & influence the people around you, changing our course if necessary.

5+ years experience in a Product Management role in a software company.
Excellent communication skills. You are happy to talk to customers & partners, & enjoy evangelizing your product & vision. Strong writing skills, for both product & engineering. You can communicate complex matters concisely & clearly.
The ability to solicit customer requirements from many - often competing - sources, prioritize, & work with engineering & design to deliver.
Analytical skills, ability to query (SQL) complex data sets to make data driven decisions & insights.
Experience working with engineering teams to deliver software using Agile methodologies & lead solution design with engineering partners.
Technically savvy & experience with the cloud, APIs, communications, enterprise software, & SMS is a plus.
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.
(Strongly Preferred) Experience of systems, architecture & APIs - including customer facing API based products - & working with architects to define them.
(Strongly Preferred) Experience of platform focused products or internal platform services.
Previous experience as an engineer.
Experience of line management or managing a team of Product Managers.
This role will be based either in our Dublin office or remotely in Ireland.
Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.
