Job Description

Visa Direct is a high priority digital product, offering significant potential for new revenue growth & displacement of checks & bank transfer. Originators (senders) & Recipients (beneficiaries) derive value from real-time payment use cases such as:

P2P payments via social networks (e.g., Facebook, Google, Square)
Payouts to suppliers to gig economy & marketplaces (e.g. Uber, Airbnb, Amazon)
Conventional disbursements (e.g., insurance claims payments, government benefits)

The Europe Visa Direct team owns & executes on the Push Payments strategy for Europe, is responsible for the development & commercialisation of new mobile & digital payment solutions & has oversight of market implementations in Europe.
This role supports commercial engagements with Merchants & Enablers in Europe. The Commercialisation Manager will play a critical role in the development of this rapidly growing business. Working as part of a small but growing team with a start-up culture, & supported by strong strategy, global product & technical teams, he/she will be responsible for supporting engagement with Acquirers, Gateways, PSPs, Payment Facilitators or Merchants to help them identify real-time payment solutions - keeping in mind evolving market, client & consumer needs & with the objective of driving significant future market growth for Visa. He/she will help Enablers define & execute a go to market sales strategy for Visa Direct to take to existing merchants & expand into new areas.

The role has responsibility to support Merchant & Enabler commercial engagement across Europe. The role holder must possess a unique combination of commercial acumen, numeracy skills, organization & project management skills as well as strategic thinking & an understanding of payments. Crucially, the candidate must demonstrate excellent collaboration & influencing skills to help drive the Push Payments strategy for Europe.

Play key role to drive commercial engagement & communications (including sell-in & value proposition), partnering with internal & external sales teams as applicable
Manage our enablement pipeline & related revenue opportunities
Utilize both internal & external data to develop compelling opportunities for our clients to leverage Visa Direct to help deliver the best solutions for their customers
Provide critical support gaining approval & sign off for commercial agreements that incentivize delivery of commitments & / or drive revenues from new use cases

  • Intellectual curiosity & bias for action

  • Knowledge & understanding of EU payment landscape & payment flows
  • Experience in a product role for new payment products & capabilities including technical / commercial / advisory
  • Experience in simplifying the complex & removing commercial & technical barriers to execution
  • Excellent communication & influencing skills, both written & verbal
  • Experience & knowledge of national & international payment systems
  • Knowledge of national & international payment schemes
  • Technical knowledge of transactions & code sets associated with card scheme payment processing
  • Experience & knowledge of the economics & underlying financials of card scheme processing
