Senior Data Analyst

Maven is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Senior Data Analyst to help architect analytical frameworks that enable data-driven solutions as our business expands. The Senior Data Analyst, reporting to the Director of Data, will work closely with our Client Success, Health Plans & Marketing teams to drive business outcomes with employer clients & health plans & to uncover insights that contribute to the wider health tech industry. By leading the architecture & analysis of the data generated by our business, identifying areas of opportunity for specific business areas or stakeholder groups, & uncovering broader trends in our platform-wide dataset, the Senior Data Analyst will drive efficiency & performance across the company.

As a Data Analyst at Maven, you will: 

  • Own relationships with & serve as analytical consultant to senior stakeholders on Client Success, Health Plans & Marketing teams
  • Create data models to deliver complex analyses of Maven data, automate client reporting, & scale day to day internal operations
  • Extract & transform data from all Maven data sources, both internal & 3rd party, using a variety of technical languages (primarily SQL & Python)
  • Visualize results of analyses to translate & share findings with clients, Maven business teams, & executive management
  • Monitor business-focused KPIs & general business health, proactively flagging & investigating any irregularities
  • Explore new ways to help our team & our company scale, such as adopting new packages or softwares, making internal tool improvements, or introducing new technical languages

Were looking for you to bring: 

  • 5-7 years in business analytics roles & a strong background in SQL & data visualization
  • Experience managing working relationships with senior stakeholders from other departments and/or external partners
  • Exposure to designing, building & maintaining data pipelines alongside an engineering team
  • A bachelors degree from a top university with a focus on a quantitative fields such as: Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science
  • A passion for dissecting & reconstructing complex issues with a data-driven approach
  • A technical bent & the ability to use data & tools to answer your own questions
  • An interest in juggling both long-term, strategic projects & ad hoc, urgent requests as needed
  • The ability to communicate well across all departments with team members of varying technical abilities

Helpful experiences & skills (if you dont have them, you can learn them with us!): 

  • Experience with data visualization software (Looker a plus)
  • Proficiency in a technical or coding language (Python, R, HTML)
  • Experience with financial modeling and/or statistics
  • Background in a healthcare-related field
