About the role
In this role, you'll support the West Coast BioPharma Business Development team to grow Guardant Health's biopharma business. You'll play a key role in developing & maintaining existing customers while also building new customer relationships, & supporting the development of new accounts.
You'll work closely with drug development companies to build partnerships using ctDNA based clinical trial services for biomarker discovery & development. You'll manage new account onboarding activities including, lead generation, CRM data entry, due diligence & contract negotiation while also supporting strategic account initiatives, identifying & making new connections.
You'll guide & educate potential partners, whether biomarker researchers, translational medicine scientists, clinical development or global commercial teams. You would be critical to identifying new Companion Diagnostic opportunities as they arise from the clinical trial services.
As well as being externally focused, you'll be well connected internally to address customer needs, working across functions to solve problems, find solutions & deliver an outstanding customer experience. Groups you'll interact with regularly include Research Operations, Alliance Management, Bioinformatics, Quality, Medical Affairs, Legal, & Finance.
Collaboration is a key success factor. You'll partner & problem solve with people across the research, clinical & business groups, must be able to influence & shape opinions & help teams reach decisions & deliver on customers' needs.
You have prior sales, business development, or consulting experience and/or education in business administration, or you have worked within biopharma, sequencing, diagnostics, CROs, or in a related life sciences area.
You have a strong desire to develop & close successful cross-functional collaborations, & bring in repeat business from multiple customers.
You are independent & self-starting, & will pro-actively chase leads & opportunities, but also work with the team to build & support processes & bring the best of the company to a customer.
You can build & service multiple leads simultaneously, balancing emerging relationships with on-going ones, addressing needs on time.
You are able to tease apart customers' needs & motivations, & can successfully influence them. You have strong presentation skills, are good at problem solving & have a good analytic skillset too.
You are motivated to grow the business, not just your patch, & see the broader team succeed. You are able to prioritize & focus on the important, not just the urgent.
In addition, you bring:
- BA or BS with 2-4 years of experience (Advanced degree, M.B.A. a plus)
