As a Senior Web Engineer, youll focus on bringing the Autolist vision to life. You will have near-term leadership opportunities, & collaborate with other engineers, product managers, designers, & analysts to execute on a broad range of projects. This could include building new features to help our customers, architecting front end projects to support a fast-growing user base, or optimizing our intelligent marketplace to provide a better user experience. 

Responsibilities:

• Build & maintain scalable, isomorphic web apps. (Our web app is built with Next.js, React, & Redux, hosted on Kubernetes) 
• Drive engineering projects to completion with a focus on the business impact of those projects. Pragmatically prioritize tasks to deliver on goals with a sense of urgency. 
• Produce engineering solutions that are reliable, maintainable & easy to change. 
• Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to plan & execute engineering projects. 
• Mentor junior & mid-level developers to help them reach their full potential. 

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of industry experience 
• Well-versed in all of the following languages & technologies: Typescript, Javascript, React, Redux.
• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library & Next.js 
• Empathetic & compassionate 
• Have mentored/coached junior & mid-level engineers 

Bonus:

• Have mastered pair-programming as a skill 
• An interest in exploring code design & architecture 
• Have used test-driven development (TDD) extensively 
• Experience building consumer-facing applications 
• Experience working in a fast-growing startup environment 
• Practical experience of a range of agile development methodologies
