Superfly is seeking an experienced full-time Retail Accountant for a new sitcom-based experience to oversee the finances of the operation.  This position requires an extremely organized, detail-oriented, & experienced accountant. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has the ability to work with a variety of personalities, & can provide accurate information & forecasting against tight deadlines. This role requires an appropriate level of discretion, strong communication, & superior financial accounting skills.

This position is a member of the management team and, thus, will be asked to provide as-needed assistance with developing & maintaining the highest quality of operations of the attractions during the pre-opening & operational phases.  The chosen candidate must lead by example, demonstrating the core values of passion, excellence, safety, & fun on a day-in, day-out basis.

Primary Responsibilities Pre-Opening Phase:

  • Develop & implement accounting policies, processes, & reporting procedures
  • Assist in the selection of outside vendors in areas such as POS (point of sale) systems, inventory management, etc.
  • Process payroll & benefits
  • Actively participate in defining the team culture & incorporating it into the operation

Primary Responsibilities Operational Phase:

  • Utilize POS software to effectively report on sales, inventory, & concessions
  • Manage & develop accounting policies, processes, & reporting procedures
  • Build budgets for ongoing operations as well as special programs & track accordingly
  • Support corporate finance team with timely reporting & royalty calculations
  • Produce a daily Flash report to circulate to Superfly & the General Manager, detailing attendance & per capita spending by cost center
  • Calculate & report royalties
  • Process payroll & benefits
  • Produce regular labor reports, by department, to update & support the management team
  • Complete on-boarding financial paperwork for new staff hires
  • Assist with cash management & project-based accounting
  • Oversee payment distribution including any necessary tax reporting, returns, & tracking
  • Develop financial strategies based on business goals & market trends to identify ways attractions can increase revenue
  • Analyze & compare facts & figures, & find patterns or trends in data to perform assessments & make recommendations
  • Manage & support any incentive-based programs for the attractions
  • Ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, & in compliance with Superfly & project accounting principles
  • Act as point of contact for all retail finance related inquiries. Liaise with corporate finance team to provide financial updates, projections & timely accounts payable & receivable
  • Work with Operations Manager, General Manager, Superfly Producers, & any other appropriate project leads on a daily basis
  • Be part of the MOD (Manager on Duty) rotation
  • Any & all duties as assigned


  • 2+ years of retail accounting experience
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • In-store experience; amusement / location-based entertainment experience a plus
  • Experience with month-end closing, year-end closing, & audit processes
  • Royalty accounting experience
  • GL Software experience (Intacct software experience preferred)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Extremely organized & detail-oriented
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Maintain grace under pressure & enjoy working in a fast-paced & fluid environment
  • Excellent problem solver with the ability to troubleshoot on the fly & come up with creative solutions
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Point of Sale software, Microsoft Excel, & email
  • Thrives in & contributes to a positive, collaborative & fun work environment!
  • Ability to effectively interface with the public & handle emergency situations in a calm & authoritative manner
