Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data team.

About the role
The Senior Data Scientist develops models & runs analyses to enhance business operations & support Oscar's goals.
You will report to the Lead Data Scientist.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

Pay Transparency:
The base pay for this role is: $158,400 - $207,900 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscars unlimited vacation program, company equity grants, & annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Works with team & manager to impact longer term strategies & roadmap
- Sets shorter term roadmap for team
- May manage data scientists and/or analysts
- Interacts & collaborates closely with data & business counterparts across functional areas
- Researches, develops, & maintains data pipelines, statistical/ML models, and/or advanced analyses
- Compliance with all applicable laws & regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 4+ years of industry or other quantitative technical fields (which may include academia).
- 3+ years of work experience working with SQL, R, and/or Python to query, manipulate & analyze data
- 3+ years experience building data models, using more advanced analytics methods, statistical modeling, and/or data processing
Bonus Points
- Advanced degree in a quantitative or technical field
- Experience in the healthcare, finance and/or insurance industries

Pay Transparency: Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
