The global product team at AccuWeather is seeking a Business/Data Analytics Intern to support the way in which AccuWeather collects, reports, & provides insights to the rest of the organization for our website & mobile applications. This position will be joining an expanding Analytics, Audience & Insights team & will collaborate with digital product managers, business stakeholders, & development teams across the organization.

As a Business/Data Analytics Intern, you will get 1:1 mentorship throughout the program to ensure you get off to a flying start & continue to meet your development goals throughout your tenure with us. During the internship, you will help validate the accuracy of digital data collection, document the data transformation process as well as implementation process, & visualize insights findings from our data analysts. You will also assist with improving productivity within the team by leveraging a number of online tools such as Slack & Asana for project management purposes. 

To succeed in this role, you should have passion to learn new technical tools, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, & be extremely detail-oriented. This role is perfectly suited for someone with a passion for data & looking forward to starting their career as a data analyst after graduation for digital products.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of analytics tools, business processes, & measurement strategies
  • Assist our analysts on analyzing broad data sets & provide actionable business insights to better inform business decisions by shadowing work.
  • Conduct timely, valuable solutions for ad-hoc data analysis & reporting
  • Maintain & improve current dashboards based on analytics as well as product stakeholders demands
  • Conduct quality assurance checks & data validation, identify & resolve issues that arise including reporting discrepancies & data inaccuracies
  • Help product managers as needed to democratize the use of data within the team 
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, etc.) or equivalent experience/training
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Some familiarity with SQL skills & data structures
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex problems into simpler terms & effectively influence both peers & senior leadership
  • Ability to absorb professional knowledge quickly & develop skills
  • Self-starter with initiative to seek out optimization chances in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be a creative thinker
  • A genuine interest & knowledge of the media & digital industry landscape, keeping up with emerging technologies & trends
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Excel, Google Sheet, Looker, & Data Studio
  • Good project management skills
