  • Actively involved in the monthly close process, owning the preparation & review of journal entries, account reconciliations & workpapers
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, & improve the accuracy & timeliness of monthly close; uses Workday effectively, with a keen eye on improving productivity
  • Assist in preparation of accurate consolidated financial statements
  • Understand all lines of business & identify trends & variances among multiple streams of revenue
  • Monitor cash management platform to reconcile deferred revenue
  • Help lead the implementation of best practices on revenue recognition to accommodate scaling of our business & new revenue streams
  • Process payroll for 250+ employees on a semi-monthly basis, & managing all payroll operations related to employee compensation, including bonuses, for exempt & non-exempt workers
  • Ensure all accounting transactions related to payroll are properly recorded in the general ledger
  • Critically review & analyze current payroll & tax procedures in order to recommend & implement changes leading to best practice operations
  • Ensure all payroll information & records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Assist with annual audits & tax preparation

  • Assist with other accounting initiatives as needed

Desired experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, CPA is required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years related accounting experience
  • Experience working in a start-up environment strongly preferred
  • Experience with Workday ERP system preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, accounting & tax matters
  • Strong Excel skills, & be comfortable with extremely large data volume
  • Able to work under time pressure, able to prioritize workload & meet tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude & flexible, especially in the period of month/quarter/year-end closing
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced & constantly changing environment
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, & prioritization abilities
