As the Software Engineering Manager for our BetterCloud Workflows (Automations) value stream, you will lead a product development team of distributed full-stack engineers in building, enhancing, & maintaining core workflow automation capabilities that empower IT professionals to create & manage zero-touch SaaSOps workflows.

About You

Experience & Skills:

• You have 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Proficient in full-stack development, with expertise in modern backend technologies (Java, Spring, or similar), JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or similar), & cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Strong understanding of scalable architecture & microservices design, with a track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable software.

Leadership & People Skills:

• Proven ability to lead, mentor, & inspire distributed teams, fostering an inclusive & collaborative environment.
• Exceptional people management skills with a commitment to employee growth, retention, & career development.
• Skilled in building strong relationships across cross-functional teams, with excellent communication & collaboration abilities.

Customer & Product Focus:

• Deeply passionate about delivering impactful customer experiences through innovative technology solutions.
• Familiarity with SaaS Operations or IT automation tools is a strong plus.

What Youll Do

Leadership & Team Development:

• Lead & mentor a team of talented full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, & continuous improvement.
• Partner with engineering teams based in the US, Mexico, India, Ukraine, & Denmark to solve complex challenges that simplify our tech stack & scale Workflows at BetterCloud.
• Drive technical excellence by guiding architectural decisions & ensuring best practices in software development.

Product Delivery:

• Partner closely with Product Management & Design to deliver customer-centric features aligned with the BetterCloud Workflows value stream.
• Oversee the delivery lifecycle, from ideation & design to implementation & release, ensuring high-quality, scalable, & maintainable solutions.

Innovation & Technical Expertise:

• Stay up to date on industry trends & emerging technologies to help shape BetterClouds technical direction & strategy.
• Advocate for & implement no-code & low-code automation innovations to maintain BetterClouds leadership in SaaSOps automation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work with other Engineering Managers, Architects, & DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration across the BetterCloud platform.
• Collaborate with Customer Success & Support teams to understand customer pain points & address technical challenges proactively.

Operational Excellence:

• Ensure team adherence to established SLAs for uptime, performance, & issue resolution.
• Continuously improve development processes & tooling to enhance efficiency & reduce technical debt.
• Growth, Leadership, & Mentorship:
• Foster a supportive & inclusive team culture that values continuous learning, innovation, & mutual respect.
• Provide individualized coaching & career development opportunities to help engineers grow in their roles & advance their careers.

Salary:

Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000 

This salary range represents BetterClouds good faith & reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting, & BetterCloud may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  The final salary for this position will be determined in BetterClouds sole discretion, consistent with applicable law, & based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the employees work experience, skills, & qualifications for the role, as well as the needs of BetterClouds business & other operational considerations.
