Seeking to hire a Contractor based out of Argentina or Mexico for Senior Software Engineering Services.

Scope of Services:

• As a Contractor of our growing Technology team, you will help the team deliver high-quality work on time.
• You will be a key contributor within a software development team, & will craft great software & automated tests to assure the design & quality of your code.
• You will also own delivery of features, independently, & will provide thoughtful input that helps with scoping & design for your team.
• Reporting to the Engineering Manager for Content Engineering; temporarily reporting to the CTO.
• You will partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, & Product Design to refine ambiguous work items into clearly defined, valuable work items. 
• The Content Management Systems team owns the content production systems at Newsela & plays a vital role in the life blood of our platform. This system includes editorial tooling & publishing flows for a variety of content types, as well as content metadata & curricular standards alignments.

Why youre a great fit:

• You have 5+ years of full-stack experience in software development & have demonstrated success working in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment.
• You are able to leverage your intermediate experience in Python to effectively build & deploy highly performant REST APIs.
• Additionally, you have a firm understanding of relational databases & experience in SQL creating & modifying data models, as well as writing & optimizing queries with scalability & performance in mind. 
• You also have some experience in Javascript.
• On top of your technical skills, you are excited to work in a collaborative & inclusive environment that supports continued improvement through code reviews & feedback. 
• You will be measured by demonstration of your technical expertise & involvement in scoping & preparing for delivery via groomed user stories, as well as execution of individual contributor tasks (architectural patterns & adherence, high-quality code & tests written, PR review cycle, QA findings, completing sprint commitments, identifying missing requirements, adherence to accessibility standards, & non-bias terminology in code.
