WHO ARE WE? 

The Business Controls Team sniffs out everything that could go wrong at BARK so our pups dont have to! Weve spent years training our noses & are always on the hunt for risks to our operations and/or financials. Our favorite toys are SOX & US GAAP & luckily they let us play with these daily. Were known around these parts as the high-energy pack that chases risk to the end of the yard until weve dug up the right toys, I mean tools, to address them. 

WHO WERE LOOKING FOR 

The ideal candidate is a resourceful, independent, self-starter who can partner with the business to manage the Companys SOX program. This candidate has strong project management skills & has a proven record of success working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Ability to build productive working relationships with management, co-workers & external parties. 

KEY DUTIES: 

  • Work with process owners to identify process-level risks & to design & implement mitigating internal controls 
  • Develop annual SOX Plan & execute against plan 
  • Lead the annual ERM Assessment 
  • Plan sox & compliance program 
  • Agree findings, remediation & action plans with management 
  • Follow up on remediation of findings 
  • Identify systems, business & process improvement opportunities Perform special projects & investigations 

EXPERIENCE : 

  • 7+ years of relevant SOX compliance work in Big 4 public accounting, public company combination of both 
  • Experience with all aspects of planning, executing & reporting projects that address a combination of operational & technology objectives
  • Detailed knowledge & of risk assessment, accounting & auditing principles; understanding of internal control framework concepts, including Sarbanes-Oxley, & GAAP
  • Experience executing of all aspects of a SOX program including risk assessment, scoping, planning, documentation, testing, deficiency sizing & aggregation & collaborating with the business including on remediation
  • Experience with AuditBoard a plus

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance 
  • CPA, CIA, and/or CISA Certification Preferred 
  • Advanced ability to evaluate the materiality of issues & see the big picture
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking by applying process analysis, business intelligence, & problem solving techniques 
  • Advanced ability to write & edit clear & concise work papers & Reports.
  • Advanced skills on MS Office applications; Experience with Governance, Risk, & Compliance software a plus 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues & connect the dots across multiple areas
