The Opportunity
Mozillas Privacy & Security product team is a vanguard protecting people on the internet. We embody the Mozilla manifesto principle: individuals security & privacy are fundamental & must not be treated as optional.
One year after the launch of our flagship product, the Mozilla VPN, the Privacy & Security product team is hard at work building new features & products to add to our portfolio. Since our products can be used by anyone with internet access, every engineer on our team has the ability to provide valuable tools to protect users data & contribute to a safer internet.
Our culture promotes participation, innovative thinking, & is inclusive of people from all walks of life. We build comprehensive full-stack software like Mozilla VPN, Monitor, and Relay. We code web services & APIs, web front-ends, browser extensions like Multi-Account Containers, & client-side apps.
What You'll Do

Build products to help users protect themselves online

Maintain significant pieces of our backend architecture

Design client/server interactions & architecture

Build, maintain, use, & combine a number of APIs for end products
What You Bring
-
5 years of experience of software development experience with an emphasis on backend services & APIs
-
3+ years of experience writing server-side code in Node.JS
-
Experience writing client-side HTML, CSS, & JavaScript
-
Exceptional collaboration skills to conduct software engineering work in the open
-
Fundamental knowledge of online security concepts/products
Bonus points

Passionate about open source technologies
-
Experience working on cross-platform products
-
Experience dev-ops tools, such as CircleCI & Sentry

Experience with Handlebars or other templating engines

Prior experience working within an Agile team

Experience leading projects, creating system architecture documentation, wikis, & diagrams
