Mozilla Corporation is the non-profit-backed technology company behind pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser, & Pocket, the content discovery platform. More than 270 million people around the world use its products each month.
Along with 20,000+ volunteer contributors & collaborators all over the world, Mozilla Corporations staff are driven by our vision to be the trusted guide through a joyful internet. We design, build & distribute software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.
At Mozilla, we believe that the web should be responsive, pages should load quickly, & resources should be used thoughtfully. The performance program is dedicated to building performance for every experience, growing a culture of performance, & to bring a balance between what is good for the users of the web & what is good for the builders of the web.
Our team is geographically-distributed, & working in the open is the norm. We contribute to the code driving the Firefox browser on a number of platforms - Windows, Android, Linux, & macOS. Our focus is on finding & fixing things that slow down the browser as well as helping other teams write fast & reliable code to make Firefox excellent for users.
As a full stack software engineer in performance, you will build tools to assist Firefox engineers with ensuring our products only ever get faster for our millions of users. Your initial focus will be on delivering applications for displaying performance data in a digestible & intuitive way. This will lower the barrier for making performance an every day concern for our engineers. You will also support our team of performance sheriffs working to prevent shipping regressions by simplifying these processes & increasing the quality of our regression detection.
What youll do
Build tools that clearly show if the performance of our products has regressed.
Develop modern web interfaces & visualizations.
Help to maintain our existing performance tools.
Seek feedback from, collaborate with, & provide updates to our users.
Uphold standards for quality by performing code reviews, fixing bugs, creating tests, & profiling code.
What youll bring
Experience working as a full stack engineer, comfortable with moving between working on the front & back end as needed.
Knowledge of distributing source code management tools such as Git or Mercurial.
Experience building intuitive & accessible user experiences, with specific experience in visualizing time series data a plus.

Excellent written & verbal communication skills, ability to work optimally in a remote environment.
Mozilla exists to build the Internet as a public resource accessible to all because we believe that open & free is better than closed & controlled. When you work at Mozilla, you give yourself a chance to make a difference in the lives of Web users everywhere. And you give us a chance to make a difference in your life every single day. Join us to work on the Web as the platform & help create more opportunity & innovation for everyone online.
