In pursuit of our goal to manage cancer across all stages of the disease, Guardant Health has launched two liquid biopsy-based tests, Guardant360 & GuardantOMNI, for advanced stage cancer patients, & is developing programs for recurrence & early detection, called Project LUNAR. Since its launch in 2014, Guardant360 has been used by more than 5,000 oncologists, over 40 biopharmaceutical companies & all 27 of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network centers.
(Covering for East Coast territory; ideally Boston or New Jersey. This is a remote position)
In this role, you'll be responsible for driving business development for Guardant Health's Biopharma team on the East Coast of the United States. You will help grow the BioPharma business as one of the East team's key business builders, expanding existing relationships & engaging potential customers by sharing Guardant's platform & capabilities to build new relationships for collaborations with Guardant.
You will use your existing network to help the business development team expand Guardant's partnerships further, & make new connections through networking, introductions & conference attendance.
You will work closely with leaders in drug development companies across biomarker research, translational oncology, clinical development & commercial, educating them on ctDNA applications & forging relationships to provide services using Guardant's digital sequencing platform.
Collaboration is a key success factor. You'll work closely with other members of the BioPharma team & functions within Guardant Health, including Legal, Product Development, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Alliance Management, Regulatory & Finance. People should look to you to partner & problem solve across groups, & you must be able to influence & shape opinions & help teams reach decisions & deliver on customers' needs in a timely fashion, while often remote from corporate headquarters.
You are patient-focused & motivated to grow the business, not just your patch.
You have extensive business development experience as well as expertise in some or all of oncology, genomics & diagnostics. You bring a broad network across biopharma companies in oncology.
You can successfully build relationships with biopharma customers. You've developed & closed successful collaborations, & brought in repeat business from multiple customers.
You are able to tease apart customers' needs & motivations, & can effectively influence them. You have strong presentation skills.
You are self-starting, pro-actively chase opportunities, & able to work with the broader team to bring the best of the company to a customer.
In addition, you bring:
- B.A. or B.S., & an advanced degree, MBA, MD or Ph.D.
- 8+ years research, medical or pharma/diagnostics business development experience.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies & use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, & biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
