Job Description

As the engineering manager responsible for Square's corporate networks, you will be responsible for managing a team of up to 8 network & software engineers. If you have a passion for the intersection between commerce & technology, & you enjoy the challenge of leading & mentoring engineers, then we want to work with you!


You will:

  • Lead a group of solid, self-driven engineers, by hiring exceptional talent, coaching & developing your team, cultivating pragmatic engineering decision-making, & leveraging your technical expertise to constantly raise the bar.

  • Work through code: Identify & actively engage automation opportunities as to scale the reach of the team in a non-linear way

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders & take responsibility for the entire connectivity experience of Square employees

  • Manage external vendors to ensure Square's network is cost efficient & uses industry best practices.

  • Own the success of your team's projects to deliver quantifiable results in a timely manner.

  • Be willing to be hands-on & work alongside your team.

You Have:

  • 3+ years experience in building & managing a team of engineers.

  • Experience with Corporate environments & networking, including wireless adn remote access technologies.

  • Successful track record of delivering complex projects with tight deadlines & constraints.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, & leadership skills; ability to inspire team members.

  • Self motivation & a proactive attitude with demonstrated creative & critical thinking capabilities.

  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of software development life cycles & best practices.
