As a Pop-Up Keyholder, you will be responsible for supporting the retail management team with day-to-day store operations & team management tasks, ensuring that we deliver a positive, personable experience that allows our customers to connect with our brand in real life. You lead by example & you are an expert in providing an exceptional customer experience according to Glossiers standards. You are a leader who loves to support customers & employees alike.

Full-time (approximately 30-40 hours per week)

Start date: August 2019

Duration: 9 weeks (this is a temporary role)


  • Showcase expertise in product knowledge, customer service expectations, & store operations, acting as a go-to resource for store employees
  • Maintain the stores appearance & atmosphere throughout the day, including controlling traffic flow, zoning the team, & delegating tasks as needed
  • Support team morale through education, encouragement, presence; provide real-time feedback & support
  • Lead by example & support with challenging customer interactions
  • Deliver consistent insights to managers, acting as their eyes & ears on the floor; have a sense of urgency & escalate situations as needed
  • Function as a key holder & perform opening & closing duties, including supporting inventory, counting cash, & any back of house needs
  • Contribute to training & onboarding new employees as directed by the management team
  • Assist your manager with tasks & projects as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ambitious professional with 1+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally, patiently & effectively with customers, team members & corporate partners
  • Can routinely deliver an exceptional customer experience & create community
  • Resourceful & entrepreneurial; a problem solver by nature & not afraid of change
  • Ability to perform & train to expert hospitality & customer service skills, including having a high sense of urgency, being detail oriented & culturally aware
  • Ability to lead by example--roll up your sleeves & jump in when the situation requires it
  • Ability to work 4-5 days a week, including evenings & weekends, starting at the beginning of August, for about 8 weeks
  • Can maintain regular attendance in order to meet the responsibilities of the role
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 6-8 hours a shift in a retail environment
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including sales floor & stock areas, by standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending & climbing a ladder or step stool
  • Ability to fully engage with customers, including applying products to customers faces, sharing product knowledge, & creating positive shopping experiences unique to the customers individual needs
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at any given time; ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Computer & technology proficient
  • Comfortable working in an environment that is frequently photographed & recorded
  • Resides in a commutable distance from the job location

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality roles
  • Experience in a high volume, customer-facing role
  • Passion for the Glossier mission & products, as well as understanding of the Glossier aesthetic & visual language
