As the Director of Learning & Development, you will be responsible for the planning, designing, development & implementation of all training initiatives & programs. This position will provide expert consultation, analysis, facilitation, research & project management in a remote first organization. Must be able to travel frequently to various destinations to facilitate training for the team. This is a hands-on role that will begin as an individual contributor with a small team to follow. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in developing & advising leaders on L&D strategy as well as implementing & executing a program with measurable success.  

Job Summary 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct annual training & development needs assessment; propose training & development programs & objectives based on assessment  
  • Design, develop, & scale a learning & development framework that aligns to our culture, talent needs & business requirements 
  • Facilitate & collaborate with external vendors for ongoing technical training & personal development classes  
  • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate & measure results & implement changes to content & programs based on feedback & learning outcomes 
  • Develop & monitor spending against the departmental budget  
  • Partner with business leaders & other People leadership team members to identify training & development needs & provide solutions to close capability gaps 
  • Assess current learning technologies, make recommendations to deliver on the long-term learning strategy, & execute the implementation of necessary tools 
  • Ensure current & new courses are aligned with any compliance needs of the organization  

 

Job Requirements 

  • 6+ years of experience in Learning & Development, preferably within a tech environment 
  • Well versed in various adult education learning styles 
  • Experience conducting organization-wide needs analysis & implementing scalable learning solutions 
  • Experience in instructional design (online, virtual, & in-person)  
  • Experience with a full spectrum of employee types (Fulfillment, Retail, Professional Services, Managers & Executives)  
  • Experience with LMS platforms 
  • Bachelors degree in related field
