Index Exchange is looking for an ambitious Director of Product to help shape the future of addressability & privacy. Index is at the forefront of providing solutions for effective advertising that respects user privacy, & as the regulatory & competitive landscape continues to change, this domain is only becoming more strategically important. As the Product Director, you will design & execute product strategy that navigates Index & our customers through these challenges & delivers high-impact results.

You will work with a cast of highly-talents PMs, who have joined us from companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, & eBay, to build product roadmaps that will elevate Index Exchange to its next growth level. If being innovative & nimble sounds fun, & you like the idea of squaring off against the ad tech giants with a more transparent approach, then this is the role for you!

What Were Looking For:

  • Product Sense: We think of Product as the engine that drives our companys growth. You have solid product intuition. Youve taken multiple great ideas from conception to market launch to bottom-line business impact. Having lived (and learned) through a few failures is good too.
  • Domain Expertise: If youve worked with identity, cookies, privacy frameworks or other solutions related to addressability & privacy, or you know the ad tech landscape & have an interest in market dynamics, regulatory & policy affairs, youll love this role.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Youre a natural leader who can rally people across Engineering, UX, Marketing, Sales & Services into a high-functioning delivery team. You are well-organized & delivery-oriented. You can work with Project Management to herd cats & guide an Agile team through delivery against a stack ranked set of priorities.
  • Technical Curiosity: You thrive on figuring out complex systems & marketplaces, identifying opportunities to simplify & improve them, & working with Engineering to make it a reality. You love working at the Internet scale, & you understand how even small adjustments can have a massive impact when applied across billions of users & transactions.
  • Data Centric Mindset: You make significant decisions based on real data, & you use it to convince others that youre right, because how else would you do it? Youre great at analysis & visualization, & you not only pronounce SQL the right way but you know how to use it
  • Customer Focused Mindset: You love speaking with customers: from world-leading publishers to advertisers & agencies, youre excited to help them grow their revenue & build a thriving digital ads marketplace.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Creating product roadmaps to set both internal & external expectations about the products well bring to market
  • Leading a team of Product & Engineering specialists to ship features that grow Indexs addressability & privacy offering
  • Contributing thought leadership & industry group participation to represent Index & help shape the future of the internet
  • Working with commercial teams & customers (publishers, DSPs, agencies) to understand their needs, & decide which ones we should address
  • Using your best judgement to make the right decisions, even when the data is imperfect; this includes saying NO to good ideas that simply wont win, because theyre not great ideas
  • Maintaining a prioritized set of products, features, & bugs in support of a thriving marketplace for digital advertising
  • Collaborating with other teams like Design, Engineering, Product Marketing, Legal, Policy & Commercial to deliver high-quality products & features on time
  • Coordinating across numerous commercial & go-to-market stakeholders to ensure that products are launched correctly, that they can be measured appropriately, & that they meet the business objectives they were designed to achieve
  • Partnering with customer service teams to ensure that whatever we build is usable & supportable by our clients

What You Need:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Math, Computer/Software Engineering, Economics, or Policy
  • Track record of successful launches, in collaboration with numerous internal & external stakeholders - some failed launches that youve learned from are good too
  • Experience in product management as well as familiarity with building & shipping within the Agile framework
  • Experience with programmatic ad tech platforms, & better yet experience with identity, cookies, contextual, privacy frameworks, CMPs, DMPs, CDPs, etc.
  • Experience in public policy, economics or market regulation would also be a huge asset
  • Strong technical, communication, & analytical skills
  • Flexibility for some occasional travel (when/where it is safe to do so)
