Position Overview  

The Director of Training & Education will be responsible for creating the strategy & supporting the implementation of all training related efforts for the Tablo Hemodialysis System & associated products.  Activities include developing & executing programs for internal teams, field sales & service teams, clinical customers, & patients.  The Director will be responsible for managing a team that develops curricula & content for education modules, creating & administering a Learning Management System, & developing content for local & national customer programs.  Skills in the development of multi-channel educational strategies, leveraging best practices in adult learning, will be critical. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage learning & development programs end-to-end, including designing the strategy, establishing operating models & processes, measuring results, & scaling. 
  • Develop & implement educational strategies for both Outset personnel as well as Outset Customers, using techniques such as e-learning, self-learning, web-based learning, experiential learning to meet the training needs.
  • Lead the team in designing, developing, delivering, maintaining, & evaluating effective & engaging courses. Ensure that current course development processes & systems are designed with scalability in mind.  
  • Manage a team that creates & deploys educational activities for both internal & external stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional business partners including Field Service, R&D, Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Program Management, Regulatory, Executive team & other departments as needed to establish & lead the development educational project priorities & allocate resources appropriately.
  • Develop short & long-term plans to ensure educational activities & programs are in place to meet business objectives & ensure alignment & coordination with appropriate functional partners.
  • Evaluate the efficacy of courses & programs, build new strategies based on feedback & analysis, & evolve offerings.  
  • Ensure high standards of architecting, authoring, testing, & assuring the quality of our learning courses & programs. 
  • Manage the Overall Training budget including program & systems expense, travel, equipment at staffing.
  • Comply with U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, & task assignments. Maintains positive & cooperative communications & collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, & vendors.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required; clinical experience preferred
  • At least 10-12 years experience in the development of training programs in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent technical aptitude in Education
  • Broad mastery of learning technology & solutions including learning management, xAPI, learning record store, simulation, virtual reality, & augmented reality
  • Demonstrated leadership in building & leading cross-functional teams
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, strategic, & highly organized
  • Must have excellent writing, analytical, & research skills
  • Experienced in working with people with diverse backgrounds
  • Must have excellent computer skills & is able to work in Microsoft Office
