About the Role:

As the VP, People Strategy you will lead the most critical work at RTR that will impact our global workforce of salaried employees & hourly associates. The projects will evolve as the needs of the business shift & you will help identify the most pressing needs. One immediate priority will be employee experience & other example projects include international talent expansion effort, employer branding, org design, new manager training, etc. This role will report to the Chief People Officer & requires an analytical, creative & thoughtful thinker who enjoys working with data & knows what it takes to succeed in a high-growth, high-demand cutting edge company. As the leader for this function, you will initially lead a team of 2 - 3 people & you will be empowered to build a team over time.  

What Youll Do: 

  • Design, articulate & implement the overall People strategy for the RTR & tailor, as appropriate, for departments - partnering closely with the Chief People Officer & other exec & senior leadership team members 
  • Work on the most critical people related projects for RTR, which includes helping determine what those projects are & how they evolve over time. You will lead the projects with a team composed of not only your direct reports, but key leaders & individual contributors across the organization. 
  • Oversees talent management, including staff training & leadership development, retention, recognition, employee communication & career development. Assesses & evaluates training & staff development needs & develops programs to meet needs.
  • Develops & maintains a semi-annual review process & collaborates with the Head of Total Rewards to link performance to compensation increases. 
  • Develop & implement organization wide communication campaigns to support the implementation of new ideas & priorities to ensure the organization is excited about & supportive of upcoming changes. 
  • Works to build external relationships that will allow RTR to better deliver on our agreed upon People strategy. 
  • Provides coaching & direction to direct reports in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities.
  • Prepares & manages budgets associated with Employee Engagement & Learning & Development. 
  • Improve SLTs understanding of the People strategy & the why so they are act as ambassadors who reinforce key messages. 
  • Establish, track & monitor key operating metrics used to drive the business to greater efficiency.
  • Create ad-hoc analyses to drive business strategy, improve efficiency & maximize ROI.

About You:

  • Preferred but not required: Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or equivalent  
  • 7 - 10 years of professional experience in all aspects of human resources management & staff development 
  • Experience developing People strategy, redesigning organizational structures, & leading complex projects that require significant coordination from various groups. 
  • Proven track record in supporting employee engagement & experience as well as communication strategies & plans, preferred 
  • Exceptional problem solving, project management, execution, & change management skills 
  • Strong & effective communication skills; ability to communicate in ways that inform, persuade, & engage target audiences
  • Strong writing & editing skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise content accessible to employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships & credibility quickly & consult with key partners to translate business priorities; collaborative individual that can meet high performance expectations 
  • Able to handle complex situations & multiple responsibilities simultaneously, balancing long-term projects with more urgent, immediate demands
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic & organizational skills
  • Highest integrity & professional standards; able to deal with confidential information with discretion
  • Superior PowerPoint/presentation skills i.e., having worked with PowerPoint in a professional capacity to produce presentations to senior management
