Position Summary

Walmart U.S. eCommerce is looking for a Manager in Strategy & Analytics to lead the development & implementation of topnotch analytics for the Retail Organization. You will be responsible for building out a holistic view of Marketplace & Assortment Performance as well as complex, cross-functional, & highly visible strategic data modeling that will help drive a world-class experience for the customer.

The Manager in Strategy & Analytics will be highly skilled at engaging & communicating across multiple domains & cross-functional business, engineering, & product organizations. You will work closely with the Retail Analytics leads to build out the Analytics roadmap, identify, & implement opportunities through advanced analysis towards boosting sales & improving customer experience. You will also be responsible for building critical performance indicators that will help track towards the companys desired goals. You will leverage problem solving approaches, be agile & apply the right end to end framework & analyses for new & ongoing initiatives.

Position Description

  • Work very closely with business leadership in driving initiatives within their roadmap
  • Manage a team of analysts & ensuring the team is aligned, on track with their deliverables & roadmap
  • Build & maintain analytics data framework & scheduled processes
  • Work with large scale data sets: extract data from sources across multiple platforms (for e.g., dotcom, stores etc.) & synthesize into dashboards or insightful information
  • Partner with stakeholders from various internal groups
  • Leads initiatives ranging from ad-hoc deep dives & root cause analysis to building robust, scalable data models
  • Manages the continuous improvement of data science & analytical processes & infrastructure
  • Promotes & supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, & standards of ethics & integrity
  • Provides supervision & development opportunities for associates

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Math, Engineering, Economics or related field
  • Strong attention to detail & highly comfortable with ambiguity in solving business problems.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities & manage requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in large-scale data models & ETL processing
  • Excellent quantitative modeling, statistical analysis skills & problem-solving skills. Sophisticated user of statistical tools.
  • Must be self-driven & passionate about retail & must be customer centric. Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, & delivering results in a dynamic environment
  • 5+ years experience in business analytics and/or data science
  • Proficient with SQL (experience in Cloud platform, Hive & Teradata utilities preferred)
  • Proficiency in Python or R
  • Hands on experience with BI tools; Tableau /R shiny/Looker
  • Ability to explain/present complicated/advanced analytical methodology & results to non-technical audiences
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent quantitative modeling, statistical analysis skills & problem-solving skills. Sophisticated user of statistical tools.

  • Excellent quantitative modeling, statistical analysis
  • Expertise with open source data science tools & platforms (Tensorflow, Pytorch, Keras)
