The Gig

The Tock Marketing Team is looking for a Senior Content Writer! Our Marketing team is tasked with the exciting responsibility of growing Tocks brand. You'll join our mission-driven marketing team & company dedicated to supporting restaurants, wineries & the hospitality industry. We're marketing innovative & powerful tools that fundamentally change how restaurants, wineries, & culinary businesses operate. We're connecting these businesses with millions of diners around the world, giving consumers a trusted brand to find delicious experiences from destination-worthy & award-winning spots to neighborhood favorites. And we're growing our marketing team to make it all happen.

Were looking for an effective & skilled content writer with B2B experience; who can simplify complex ideas into simple, digestible content to successfully increase engagement, drive website traffic & produce conversions. This role is focused on creating multiple types of content to generate new customer leads, engage existing customers, drive Press & increase the overall awareness & share-of-voice of Tock in the category. You will have an opportunity to conceive, write, edit, & execute marketing copy across key digital channels, with primary focus on email, blog, white papers, website pages & ad creative content. 

You will report directly to the CMO & will be located in Chicago.

Youll Get To 

  • Write, edit & create copy for:  email campaigns, product newsletter & release notes, in-product marketing, Sales resource pages, Resource Center articles, website landing page copy, digital advertising (including paid display, search, & social ads), blog, & broad integrated campaigns across key paid & owned channels.
  • Long & short form projects that require research & interviewing
  • Have understanding & mastery of leveraging brand persona in voice, tone & messaging
  • Keep abreast of trends in content & style reflected on various media & marketing channels
  • Have & bring to life a deep understanding of our customers
  • Help drive messaging deliverables across all owned channels efforts to deliver fresh, compelling, informed stories about our customers
  • Balance personality with brevity, bringing an approachable & casual but clear voice to our products
  • Write clear, intuitive help center articles that our customers are eager to reference & rely on
  • Write compelling customer messages like release notes & feature announcements

Who Were Looking For 

  • At least 4 years experience as a copywriter, content strategist, & editor for B2B. Ideally to include the following: SEO Content Writing (Short-Form & Long-Form), SEO Copywriting (B2B & B2C), Blog Writing, Landing Pages, Email Marketing, Editing & Proofreading, Press Releases, White Papers, & Keyword & Competitor Research
  • Experience in an agency or in-house role within a marketing team
  • Experience marketing FOR a B2B brand is preferred, but bonus would be experience marketing TO consumers (B2C)
  • Background in the hospitality industry is a plus
  • An envy-inducing portfolio of digital-first work
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices
  • Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex hospitality & technological topics in clear, concise ways to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent accuracy & attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects; heavy user of the phrase what if
  • Ability to work independently & collaboratively with marketing, creative, design, & products teams in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to take feedback from a wide variety of team members
  • Passionate about storytelling & helping build a growing brand
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude with strong organizational skills balancing long & short term projects
  • Sense of pride in presenting well written, on-brand, error-free work
  • Excitement for ideating & creating in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
