THE ROLE

We are looking for a talented & passionate Firmware Engineer to be part of an exciting team. You will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, & implementation of cutting edge products in Peloton Roadmap. You collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, product managers, technical program managers, & electrical & other hardware engineering teams. You create extendable design & easy to maintain solutions with the long term vision in mind.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development of new features for embedded systems
  • Investigate, prototype & deliver new & innovative system solutions
  • Architect & implement embedded firmware designs/programs to support development of scientific instruments
  • Work with electrical, mechanical, software & system engineers to develop the firmware requirements
  • Design, develop & verify firmware, drivers & APIs for embedded systems
  • Participate in design reviews, development, & documentation
  • Work with new technologies that are vital to product development
  • Deliver investigation plans & reports, architectural documents, design specs, software & firmware source code, build scripts
  • Perform tasks including debug, bring-up, Beta & production software development
  • Successfully collaborate with both software & hardware teams
  • Write software for hardware & system verification & validation
  • Write software for manufacturing test fixtures & instrument calibration

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as an embedded software/firmware engineer required
  • Experience in one or more of these areas: sensors, motor control, PID control, USB, I2C, SPI communication protocols
  • Experience in embedded software design, development & debugging
  • Experience in coding in C/C++
  • Experience with FreeRTOS , Embedded Linux
  • System level integration experience
  • Board bring up experience
  • Experience in writing unit & system level test software
  • Experience with Jira or other project management & bug tracking software.
  • Ability to understand, debug & work with Schematics

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Strong debugging/trouble-shooting & problem solving skills of embedded systems
  • Expert in firmware design & implementation
  • Experience with Linux kernel development
  • Experience with real time debugging tools (software & hardware)
  • Knowledge in serial interface protocols like I2C, SPI & USB
  • Experience with PID control & motion control
  • Experience developing for ARM Cortex-M MCU
