Director of Technology, Fulfillment Planning

The Director of Technology for Fulfillment Planning role will be within the Fulfillment Strategy organization & is responsible for creating & building the technology tool suite vision & roadmap for our next generation production scheduling & labor management across all of the fulfillment centers in North America.
You will work directly with our Vice President of Fulfillment Strategy. Your time will be spent between building & executing the strategic technical vision that will enable us to move our labor planning & execution tools to a web-based platform. While also creating a positive workplace culture across the network, mentoring the leadership team, & driving continuous improvement specifically across the US labor & planning technology & strategy team. This person will have a seat at the table with executive enterprise leaders & be given the opportunity to make strategic decisions that will impact the company as a whole.
Specific job duties:
- Lead the US network in setting the technical vision & tool suite roadmap for production & labor planning across all sites & brands in NA
- Establish the current & future state tools that optimize our planning methods
- Work with operational leaders to understand the barriers to labor planning & clearly builds solutions to address those barriers & minimize our costs while maintaining world class quality & SLA standards
- In collaboration with the Product Supply team, drive continuous improvement to increase production quality, cost efficiency, & enhancement of our customers experiences
- Optimally connect all material management inputs to meet production requirements
- Provide analysis & modeling support for supply chain initiatives, including process optimizations & proposals
- Perform root cause analysis of business processes & system problems & recommend solutions
- Coordinate with the plant operations team, procurement & supply chain management to evaluate any changes needed in the long-term production plan
- Provide data-driven insights during production & operations planning meetings
- Track variances to long term plan & lead continuous improvement objectives
- Create next generation tools to the local site leaders that support labor management & planning
Key Competencies:
- Technical background in software development coupled with operations experience would be ideal. Having the ability to build the labor planning tool suite with a consideration for operational impact & performance is optimal.
- Has led technical roadmaps creation & execution in regards to labor & production planning tools development in a multi-unit & brand environment would be ideal.
- Has led implementation & management of workforce management & planning software
- Demonstrated ability to lead people & activities effectively in a production environment.
- Coding capabilities or management of SDEs across multiple languages a strong plus
- Strong / expert level spreadsheet data table management, financial modeling desirable
- Supply chain & operations experience highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to establish & improve processes
- Ability to drive projects to closure & deliver results
- Ability to lead, teach, & present data at both the operational tactical & executive levels
- Ability to travel 20-30% of the time to meet team members & understand impact of tools at the tactical levels across NA
- Strong written & oral communication skills, including the editing, oversight or preparation of technical reports, & the presentation of information to government entities & various committees
- Strong organizational skills
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science technical degree, Masters a plus or extensive experience in technical development roles
- 5+ years of technical education, web software development, & business planning experience
Education, Experience & Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science technical degree, Masters a plus or extensive experience in technical development roles
- Advanced Excel, Nielsen, Klaviyo, Python, R, Shopify, SQL, Tableau, Adobe CS, skills a plus
- Prior experience with labor & production scheduling in a manufacturing or e-commerce setting preferred
- APIC CSCP certification preferred
