POSITION: Software Engineer II

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the features that users interact with, in addition to the back-end commerce, fraud detection & tools; serve as a part of a broader team to write, test, & correct code for complex software applications; liaise with the interested business & product management stakeholders to understand business needs as they relate to technical capabilities to create the best-in-class traveler experience by delivering software solutions & features that that are highly functional & intuitive for users; leverage directly related academic training to touch code throughout the stack at every level, including the design, coding, testing, & deployment of new components & functionalities; review the code of peer engineers for quality assurance purposes & participate in the maintenance of code written by other engineers; collaborate closely with our product & design teams to adjust existing feature specifications to adapt to evolving market needs; review & retrieve data regarding application performance to fine tune development projects & maximize functionality; and, work alongside engineers at all levels of our organization to share knowledge associated with development projects.
REQUIREMENTS: Position requires a Masters degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related position. Experience must include the following: Demonstrable experience in data structures, algorithms, & OO Design; Demonstrable experience in programming; Demonstrable experience programming in Java and/or C++; Demonstrable experience programming in a Linux environment; Demonstrable experience in database systems like Postgresql, Hadoop, Hive, and/or Snowflake; Demonstrable experience in React, CSS, & HTML5; Experience in leading large projects with one to two junior engineers;
