Square is looking for a People Operations Specialist on our People Experience & Operations team to help us build a great employee experience for our Japan office & globally.
Be our local HR site support for our Japan office
Help surface local issues to the People team leadership
Work with the local payroll & benefits vendors to get new hire information & changes processed
Respond to employee queries from all employees globally on people matters
Keep square safe by executing on initiatives to remain compliant with global employment regulations such as day 1 check in (Right to work)
Work on & support ongoing process improvement initiatives
Roll up your sleeves & pitch in, contributing to the overall growth of the Japan business by contributing time, effort & ideas to functions outside of your lane.
3+ years experience in HR, or employee experience roles
A basic understanding of HR processes
Knowledge of Japanese labor laws & regulations
Experience working with Workday preferred
Used to G Suite, Slack or other convenient technologies for workplaces.
Japanese fluency, both written & oral
English fluency, both written & oral
A self-starter attitude: you instinctively & consistently create personal & professional stretch goals & meet them.
An ability to succeed in a collaborative, start-up environment, working cross-functionally with colleagues around the world.
Willingness to travel in Japan & internationally when required.
