What youll do

DoubleVerify is looking for a Director of Technical Accounting & Policy who will be responsible for developing & maintaining accounting policies & guidance in accordance with FASB requirements. Working with the SVP Finance & CFO, the Director of Technical Accounting will lead the assessment of complex technical accounting issues & implementation of new accounting standards at the Company.

This newly created position will work closely with the Controller, the Revenue Operations team & the Technical Operations team to establish an agile & high-performing in-house technical accounting function to meet the companys objectives as it continues to grow & expand globally.

  • Provide operational & technical accounting expertise on all aspects of the companys operations
  • Act as lead subject matter expert on all areas requiring technical accounting support
  • Responsible for the preparation & maintenance of the Companys accounting policies & procedures, including non-US operations
  • Ensure the company's accounting is in compliance with U.S. GAAP, with a focus on recognizing revenue in accordance with ACS 606
  • Monitor & analyze the impact of potential new SEC & FASB developments in accounting standards on the Companys financials & operations
  • Prepare & maintain technical accounting memorandums documenting conclusions & referencing the appropriate accounting literature
  • Assess the impact of significant transactions & ensures that transactions & events are properly disclosed in company financial statements
  • Coordinate with legal & human resources regarding the appropriate accounting for significant employment-related & share-based agreements
  • Work with external auditors & advisors to record & report company transactions
  • Ensure technical accounting & policy matters are accurately reported & disclosed in the companys audited financial statements & other filings that arise as a result of debt and/or equity filings
  • Participate in the Companys Audit Committee as needed
  • Prepare for month-end close stock-based compensation accounting, earnings per share & other equity accounting analyses, reconciliations & journal entries
  • Support the annual audit & activities with external auditors as needed

Who you are

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution & CPA required
  • 8+ years accounting experience, including external reporting experience
  • Strong technical accounting background with thorough knowledge of US GAAP & Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, internal controls & financial reporting is required
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical information into digestible data for both technical & non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & manage competing priorities
  • Ability to assimilate easily into teams
  • Strong intellectual horsepower & a quick study
  • Ability to discover root of a problem & implement fixes so the problem doesn't recur
  • Effective analytical & critical thinking abilities
  • Comfortable with new concepts & complexity
  • Understanding of NetSuite ERP System
  • Experience in the advertising, technology and/or media industry preferred
