We are seeking a data driven experienced Director of Retention & Engagement communications. This person will be responsible for driving the consumer engagement lifecycle strategy of our business. They will have passion for marketing automation, problem solving, & working cross functionally. The Director of Retention & Engagement will lead a team & demonstrate the ability to build, execute, & scale email, SMS, push marketing campaigns, & remarketing efforts from conception to completion.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the comprehensive customer marketing strategy across several lifecycle stages including activation, onboarding, customer engagement, upsell/cross-sell, winback.
- Help define & operationalize our customer lifecycle in partnership with our CRM & Product marketing team. You will be a driving force.
- The Director of Retention & Engagement will be a great storyteller, with a focus on customer engagement & utilization
- Partner with analytics & product to develop key target segments & cohort analysis to drive engagement strategy.
- Set campaign, segmentation, & channel mix strategy, & lead cross-functional teams to bringing 360 campaigns to life
- Continuously test across our owned & operated channels (email, in-product, push, SMS, etc.)
- Lead & drive a prioritized calendar of lifecycle initiatives to completion with various internal partners including creative, product marketing, BI, product, engineering, & data, as well as external vendors/agencies
- Build & own reporting to measure success, & communicate performance (campaign status, risks, & mitigation plans) on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis to internal collaborators (including senior leadership)
Who You Are:
- 5-10 years digital marketing experience with validated hands-on experience driving growth & retention via CRM, email marketing, & customer segmentation
- Consistent track record of using data, analytics, & insights to guide strategy & develop powerfully engaging marketing programs
- Ability to build innovative marketing programs that deliver measurable value throughout the marketing funnel
- Experience managing martech stacks & migrations in partnership with the products team to leverage the best platforms to drive engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, with the ability to synthesize sophisticated concepts into clear, concise, & engaging messages
- Strategic big-picture problem solver who can plot a campaign from idea to execution; ownership mentality
- Creative & hard-working problem solver who possesses the ability to lead with authority & influence
- Expertise & hands-on experience with Braze, Salesforce, Blueshift or other CRM platforms.
