Position Summary

Moda is seeking an enterprising individual who will have the opportunity to innovate & the license to make an impact in our busy New York City office. The Lead Product Designer is a proven problem solver with a keen design aesthetic & growth mindset. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with analytical mind & the ability to effectively present & advocate ideas. This person will work cross-functionally with Product, eCommerce Marketing, & Technology teams to design products & experiences that are simple & intuitive for users. He/she understands the value of listening carefully & learning from customers & co-workers alike. The Product Designer knows how to get things done while working with a wide variety of personalities & perspectives, & is always up for a challenge.


  • You have at least 7-10 years of experience designing at a user-centric tech or media company
  • Your portfolio has some best-in-class work
  • Youre a generalist with a sweet spot, or a specialist looking to broaden your skills
  • You focus on UI & UX design principles, understand how to gather product requirements, incorporate user research, frame the problem, focus on the user, & articulate & drive a clear design direction
  • You believe in craftsmanship & create elegant & compelling designs
  • Youre well versed in countless micro-interactions on mobile & web, & have nuanced views on how to make many of them even better
  • You can prototype quickly, make last-minute tweaks between user studies, & know how & when to be extremely polished or quick & dirty
  • You are able to navigate between exploration & tactical, iterative designs
  • You can analyze data, interviews, & research & translate your insights into actionable user flows, layouts, prototypes, & final designs
  • You can think systematically & translate complex concepts into simple & intuitive solutions
  • You have designed for both consumer & internal facing audiences


  • You are able to articulate why one solution is best for which device, iOS, Android, or others
  • You know what detail matters at each stage of a release cycle, & how to motivate your team members to get to the next iteration
  • You know how to manage process & product
  • You develop strong relationship with product managers, developers, & other product designers


  • You thrive best when helping to define the requirements, not just translating them into designs
  • You facilitate & draw the best design ideas from teammates, not just your own
  • You have expert knowledge of analytics & can think & talk about the companys bottom line
  • You have a deep sense of the companys business model & what will move the needle
