Position Summary:

Our team is seeking a Director of Real Estate & Workplace. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting an excellent workplace experience from end to end for Roivants employees & guests. You will own & lead all aspects of day-to-day operations, programs, on-site events, building operations, maintenance & real estate initiatives.  In addition, you will be responsible for Roivants Physical Security program & overseeing the operation of the Wet Laboratories

Roivant is a growing company, which means you will also be responsible for scaling this teams capabilities, setting strategic priorities, crafting & tracking performance metrics, & building (and re-building) processes & policies. The ideal candidate is an excellent manager, operationally driven & cares deeply about the workplace culture & experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct planning & oversee implementation of Real Estate & Workplace systems, existing real estate portfolios & Roivant sites, including catering, parking & other regular & special operations of Roivant facilities, real estate acquisition & lease administration
  • Guide site managers in development of strategies for Real Estate & Workplace projects; ensure project plans reflect Roivants focus on service & support a responsive & collaborative culture; guide others in adjusting strategies in changing environments
  • Ensure Real Estate & Workplace projects are developed on time & within budget while meeting strategic & operational goals
  • Ensure professional development of managers & staff, helping them translate Roivant strategies into project strategies & tactics
  • Develop practices, systems & infrastructure that improve operations of teams directed; develop Real Estate & Workplace processes that are thoughtful, well-designed, clearly articulated, documented & understood by Roivant & our Vants; implement & approve policies
  • Manage Physical Security in order to implement industry best practices & develop a comprehensive Security program.
  • Develop & manage budgets, schedules, performance standards & resource requirements
  • Identify trends in escalated issues & recurring problems & develop improved cross-functional processes to resolve those problems, increase employee satisfaction & improve guest experience
  • Interact with peers in management to interpret information & improve cross-functional processes & programs & advocate for resources; serve as a trusted point of contact on Real Estate & Workplace related tools & best practices
  • Influence strategic decisions of program, initiative, product or operation; influence organizational decisions beyond immediate area of accountability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve cross-functional Real Estate & Workplace processes & projects
  • Build & enhance relationships with third party agencies (e.g., professional service providers, skilled & unskilled labor contractors, suppliers, vendors); participate in contract negotiations; organize & lead real estate negotiations
  • Comprehensive understanding of facilities management, equipment maintenance, organizational change, telecommunications services, mailroom operations, catering, parking & other work environment services

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working in Facilities/Workplace experience required, 12+ years preferred, including at least 3+ years of experience managing people required, 5 years preferred
  • 3+ years of experience overseeing Wet Lab operations preferred, including establishing standards & methods for cleaning, maintenance & ordering of supplies
  • Experience developing processes that scale with an organization as it grows, & the lessons which come from that
  • Proven ability to build a highly aligned & productive team & working environment, across both distributed & ad hoc teams, with fluid and/or diverse goals
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to translate complex topics & decisions for a variety of audiences
  • Strong executive presence, combined with exceptional written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills; ability to build positive relationships easily & with authenticity with people & partners with varied backgrounds & perspectives
  • Proven experience developing cross-functional & strategic vendor relationships
  • Excellent project management capabilities: able to lead multiple workstreams & prioritize scalable processes & systems, ranging from space planning to ticketing
  • Ability to handle change, navigate ambiguity & drive efficiencies in order to achieve the objectives of the Real Estate & Workplace team
  • Metric driven; analytical thinking & problem-solving experience to help prioritize short- & long-term organizational needs
