As a global payments system, Visa maintains a Compliance Program designed to proactively manage legal, regulatory & ethical risks across our business.
This position is responsible for supporting & providing cross regional analysis, program development & reporting to ensure the effective execution of the Compliance Program in the Central Europe, Middle East & Africa (CEMEA) region.
The position supports the Regional Compliance Leader & Regional Compliance Officers by performing risk assessment, completing process & control testing, constructing & analyzing key metrics & compiling reports that contributes to the Compliance Program governance & oversight process. The position is key to ensuring effective risk management, decision-making & review of key processes to meet international standards & the requirements of regulations & laws of the United States as well as countries of the region. These activities include the following areas of risk:
Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption;
Office of Foreign Assets Controls & other Sanctions;
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF);
Anti-Trust & Competitive Intelligence; and
Business Conduct & Ethics;
Conflicts of Interest; and
Prevention of Insider Trading.
Leadership & Responsibilities
Provide overall Compliance Program operational support to the Regional Compliance Officers & Regional Compliance Leader across the CEMEA region in the areas of AML, ATF, Sanctions & Anti-Bribery
Complete transaction data analysis of unusual activity cases raised by the Financial Intelligence Analytics Center & co-ordinate assessment, investigations & conclusions in collaboration with the Regional AML/ATF SME & Regional Compliance Officers
Review case status updates & ensure actions are maintained on the system of record
Develop & maintain the Compliance legal & regulatory obligations library in collaboration with other stakeholders, reflecting & identifying obligations of both Visa Clients in relation to high risk regulated products operating on the Visa network, as well as obligations of Visa as a network operator
Develop & maintain the Country Profiles, capturing Visa's business footprint, employee bases & legal entities, & various country & product risk assessments
Capture risk information including regulatory landscape changes from various internal & external sources to maintain country profiles & compile various regional & leadership governance reports
Capture Compliance Program risk & performance metrics from various systems & compile various regional & leadership governance reports
Capture data & compile a current status report on the Business Scorecard
Monitor & maintain the group e-mail account, ensuring responses to the Business are provided in a timely manner
Monitor completion status of corporate, regional & tailored training activity & provision of training to new hire employees
Design & develop tailored training materials in collaboration with Regional Compliance Officer identified needs
Perform selected quality assurance testing of Compliance Program controls & processes including intermediary status & spend documentation transactions & manage responses to the Compliance Risk Management Monitoring & testing team
Monitor the completion of Compliance Office Visits & client engagement program, track against the schedule & ensure maintenance of the register by the responsible Regional Compliance Officer
Analyze Country Office Visit feedback from employees & provide analysis & drive improvement of materials & content
Research allocated Compliance Program related activities & provide analysis, action plans & conclusion
Monitor issues captured in the Compliance Issue Management database & work with issue owners to ensure satisfactory conclusion
Assist in tracking & reporting of Compliance Program planning, budgeting, forecasting & expense management activities
Collaboration & Communication:
- Communicate openly. Develop strong & effective internal business partnerships & drive regulatory compliance matters by providing accurate & timely support to the Regional Compliance Officer & Regional Compliance Leader
Enable & Inspire:
- Ensure understanding of Visa business model, Business strategy, products, processes & controls through ongoing research & dialogue to identify potential or emerging risks & proactively raise them so as to avoid unnecessary exposure & delays to Business activity, & to ensure the Compliance Program remains effective
Excel with Partners:
Respond to queries & questions on the Compliance Program, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics & company Policies from the Business, support functions, other control groups
Raise identified issues & provide necessary information & analysis to enable determination of effective risk mitigation
Ensure responses to the Business & other Controls & Support Groups are timely, accurate & appropriate
Continually identify opportunities for Compliance Program & operational process efficiencies while ensuring sufficient controls are in place; partner with the Business & other Support & Control functions to drive identified process & control improvements
Develop, issue & manage department operational desk instructions to provide consistency in Compliance Program execution across the region
Work with Regional Compliance Officers to implement controls related to the Visa Records Retention policies & procedures.
Review & analysis of pre-approval requirements for sponsorship events such as Olympics, FIFA & CEMEA Business Council.
Risk & Control Reporting:
- Developed & analyze comprehensive reporting including local dashboard of Compliance Program activity, metrics & performance assessment
Bachelor's degree or other higher education qualifications required
Advanced data analytics skills including
Advanced Access & Excel skills
Excellent process analysis & process mapping skills including use of Visio
Excellent report writing, data interpretation & presentation skills
Experience in use of SharePoint, SharePoint Designer, InfoPath & building automated workflow management tools
Professional AML/ATF accreditation required
Sound knowledge of AML/ATF risks & typologies
Experience in risk & regulatory research
Experience in risk assessment, control assessment & residual risk assessment
ICA Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance or similar qualification will be an added advantage
