Sourcing Manager - Technology Sourcing - Datacenter & Co-Location Services Sourcing
Austin, TX, Foster City, CA, Ashburn, VA or Denver, CO
Visa Technology Procurement is seeking a Sourcing Manager to support the Datacenter & Co-location services category. The two primary functions of this role are: (1) identify & negotiate cost savings & (2) negotiate contractual language. This role supports the VP of IaaS Engineering & will manage a large portfolio of Visa Datacenter & Co-location services suppliers & deals.
Work with the Category Executives & Visa Technology to create the Supplier / Product Strategy for the Datacenter & Co-location services sub-category.
Understand the Visa product & service requirements, the suppliers providing the data center & co-location services, their sales & service models, & effectively communicate these to Sourcing executives & Technology stakeholders.
Perform market analysis to support the Visa requirements & drive recommendations to the Technology teams. The Sourcing Manager will be expected to be an expert in the Data Center & Co-location space.
This role supports Visa's Operations & Infrastructure organization & maps to the Global Sourcing Director who manages Compute, Storage & Data Center/Co-location procurement for Visa, globally
Sourcing Capabilities - Commercial & Contract Negotiations
Negotiate & drive best-in-class deals for Visa. This is a strategic role & will include numerous enterprise-level engagements.
Drive multi-vendor strategies to optimize Visa's leverage & reduce operational risk.
Effectively use RFX events to support Visa's Technology organization.
Perform savings tracking & report realized savings on a continuous basis.
Negotiate contract terms & conditions as a first line of review, in partnership with Visa Legal.
Define & communicate the Sourcing Strategy to business partners, Sourcing leadership & other stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with Technology business partners to drive Sourcing engagement. This role requires constant engagement with business partners & deep involvement in their projects & planning activities.
Provide continuous written & verbal updates to the business partners, suppliers & other stakeholders on the status of deal.
Regularly update executives at all levels of the company on deal status, category reporting, etc. This role will have direct visibility to senior-level executives across Visa.
4 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree
5+ years of experience as a sourcing and/or procurement professional, preferably with a focus on Data Center & Co-location sourcing and/or Technology spend/vendor relationships.
3+ years of experience assisting in, or leading, the development & management of category plans or sourcing strategies.
Demonstrated understanding of the Data Center & Co-location, categories, including major suppliers in the category, key contract terms & emerging market trends.
Excellent written, oral & presentation skills & an ability to synthesize complex & technical information into clear recommendations on course of action.
Demonstrated technology agreement negotiation experience.
Experience managing technology business users, including excellent relationship management skills.
Ability to influence at an executive level both internally & externally.
High level of self-motivation & initiative, & ability to operate as a team player.
Willingness to offer thought leadership, to think creatively, & to offer new ways to approach old problems
Undergraduate degree required, preferable in business, economics, computer science or engineering related field; graduate degree in business, economics or engineering a plus
