About the Role:  

Based remotely & / or regionally in the Southeast, this Account Executive will find new customers & manage existing relationships as we continue to grow sales according to the business plan.  The ideal candidate is a driven, independent thinker, who is passionate about helping Planet to expand into new market segments. This person will have a strong business acumen & an aptitude to learn new things. You will target commercial accounts, finance, insurance, agriculture,  government (civil) accounts, & partners. You will identify, qualify, negotiate, & close large-scale complex deals & drive sales revenue targets. Above all else, you are a relentlessly curious, life-long learner who enjoys our unique value proposition & wants to join Planet on our mission to see change & change the world.

You will develop an extensive pipeline of new sales leads, provide product & sales demonstrations to prospective customers, & formulate appropriate business relationships with accounts.

This is what a typical week would like for you:

  • Prospect, develop, & close a continuous pipeline of opportunities
  • Maintain account & opportunity information in SalesForce
  • Forecast business & sales pipeline as required by management
  • Up & cross-sell opportunities, probe for additional contacts with projects/opportunities
  • Collaborate with the extended team to leverage your resources & and work as one team
  • Manage existing customer base to expand their Planet footprint 
  • Manage proposal generation & pricing work as needed

Impact Youll Own:

  • Demonstrated success finding & winning business with new customers
  • 5+ years of related experience in Software or technical sales
  • Experience selling to Enterprise customers including understanding the nuances of sales cycles & how to navigate through the channels
  • Strong enterprise and/or SaaS technical sales experience required along with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Forecast accurately & manage a pipeline of opportunities
  • Source, sell, co-sell, & close large deals; carrying quota & closing should be familiar concepts.
  • Ability to do deep discovery & build relationships to enable negotiations regarding variations in prices, delivery & customer specifications to their managers.
  • Excellent communication skills, multiple languages is always a plus
  • Self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines in start-up environment
  • Critical thinking & creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with or a similar CRM System

Compensation (only applicable for Colorado applicants):

The base pay range targeted for this position in Colorado is: $81,000 - $159,000. This role is eligible for bonus, commission & equity.

The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, including experience, location, & other business considerations.

Planet is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are not able to work from a state where Planet is registered, you will not be eligible for employment.
