Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner who can give our customer's & integrated partners voice a seat at the Scrum table. They should be well-versed in API development & understand the Agile process from beginning to end, including user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, & QA.

Key Responsibilities

The following are the core areas for which you will be responsible:

  • Help evangelize API development at Revel 
  • Partner with Product Manager & other Product Owners as well as technical leadership to develop the API objectives & roadmap & implement high quality, valuable products for our customers
  • Gather feedback & data from Revels customers & integrated partners to help improve the developer experience
  • Manage up to 2 scrum teams 
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop best practices for API implementation & management within the Product Engineering organization 
  • Advocate for the customer on the Scrum team, providing vision & direction to the Agile development team & stakeholders throughout the project
  • Work closely with Product Management to create & maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Work with designers to ensure a high-level user experience is delivered
  • Participate as a key member within an Agile team of developers, QAs & designer to meet committed sprint timelines
  • Plan & prioritize the product feature backlog to ensure that the scrum team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared stories 
  • Provide backlog management alongside the Scrum master, iteration planning, & elaboration of the user stories
  • Lead the planning product release plans & set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Research & analyze market, the users, & the roadmap for the product
  • Follow our competitors & the industry 
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices & new trends

Supporting Activities

As a Revel Product Owner, you will collaborate closely with the Product Managers & other stakeholders to assist with:

  • Defining the product vision & roadmap
  • Planning releases
  • Developing user personas
  • Identifying market & customer needs

From time to time, some projects may require additional business analysis skills including:

  • Performing detailed requirements analysis
  • Evaluating & documenting business processes
  • Anticipating requirements & uncovering areas for improvement
  • Assisting business stakeholders during user acceptance testing

Requirements

  • Previous working experience as a Product Owner for 3 years
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant work experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process & principles
  • Experience consuming & documenting REST APIs
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, & leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills
  • Sharp analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker with a vision
  • Attention to details

Nice to Have

  • Relevant industry experience as a cashier, waiter, cook, store manager, or key holder in the foodservice or retail industries
  • Familiarity with SwaggerHub, Postman, & Amazon API Gateway
  • Experience with enterprise API integrations
  • Experience developing REST APIs
