Hi, we're Oscar. Were hiring an Associate Director of Strategy to join our Strategy & Optimization team to sit remotely in New York. 

Oscar is a technology-driven, consumer-focused health insurance startup founded in 2012 & headquartered in New York City. Our goal is to make health insurance simple, transparent, & human. We need your help to do so.

About the role:

You will be accountable & responsible for helping set & manage the overarching strategy of Oscars production optimization teams: member services, provider services, clinical services, & insurance operations.  You will set, own & implement strategic initiatives as well as leading our vitals, metrics, +Oscar engagements, & collaborations across the company. 

You will report into the Strategy & Optimization Director.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Develop & maintain a broad & deep understanding of our internal & external partners & the markets they operate in & become the go-to-individual at the company for strategic initiatives & programs related to Service Operations 

  • Set drive & deliver program strategy including determining & uncovering new opportunities across Service Operations 

  • Lead & oversee & the vitals planning process for Service Operations including reporting on progress, ensuring collaboration & identifying & mitigating areas of risk 

  • Lead by driving decisions & implementation on an ongoing basis

  • Resource +Oscar engagements with SME support & decision making authority for business decisions 

  • Interface regularly with Oscar business leads & external stakeholders to drive discussions & ensure deliverables are completed on time & remove roadblocks

  • Responsible for building & maintaining a monitoring program of Service Operations performance metrics including regulatory/compliance reporting 

  • Development & growth of direct reports, ensuring that colleagues are supported in professional development 

Requirements:

  • A bachelors degree or commensurate 4 years of experience 

  • 7+ years of work experience in health insurance, consulting, healthcare, and/or operations

  • 4+ years of experience leading & developing a team

  • Experience in program management and/or design or implementation

  • Proven track record of success for improving processes & workflows including but not limited to workflow design & working with product/engineering teams to design tooling 

Bonus Points:

  • Lean / Six Sigma experience

  • Consulting or similar experience 

  • Experience in a client facing/vendor management role
