The Players' Tribune (TPT) is looking for the lead of their People team to build a vision & execute strategic objectives in regard to all HR policies, Learning & Development, recruiting, culture, onboarding, & other people functions. The Director will manage Recruiting & HR leads, report to the VP of Operations & Strategy, & work collaboratively across all content & business departments.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the design & implementation of a range of employee programs across the HR spectrum, including Learning & Development, onboarding, culture, benefits, manager training, compensation planning & reviews, employee handbook, & more
  • Manage a small team of Recruiting & HR / Office operations leads
  • Create & manage all Learning & Development initiatives including Manager trainings, communication & competency trainings, Speaker Series, etc.
  • Own all feedback processes & tools to guide ongoing informal & annual formal performance management
  • Execute employee engagement surveys, interpret people analytics data, & connect with employees on a 1-on-1 basis to inform strategy & areas for improvement
  • Create a framework & process for the career growth of current employees
  • Provide HR business partnership support as needed to specific teams & department leaders
  • Coach people managers to be more effective communicators, leaders, & mentors
  • Provide thought partnership to the VP Operations & Strategy on organizational operational challenges, organizational structure, & overall People strategies
  • Develop a talent strategy that hires, retains, & promotes a culture of diversity, inclusion, & personal development

Who we're looking for:

  • 7-10 years of combined experience in two or more HR / People Ops areas, & with desire & proactiveness to learn in any areas where you are less well-versed
  • Experience managing a team; comfortable as a player-coach as needed
  • Experience in a start-up environment, successfully designing & driving People-related programs at a company-wide level
  • Strong expertise in strategy development, analytics, & project management; MBA and/or consulting experience is preferred
  • Exceptional skills in writing, speaking/presenting, problem solving, & diagnosing / understanding areas of need
  • Excellent partnering skills; works collaboratively, effectively & efficiently with stakeholders across all departments & levels
  • Passionate about sports
