Job Description

Position Summary:

This opportunity calls for a strategic & collaborative Finance professional who will be the lead financial partner for Visa's Marketing & Communications organization. The Finance VP will be responsible for leading financial planning & analysis, providing broad decision support analytics, identifying & evaluating investment & efficiency opportunities, & proactively managing expenses for Marketing & Communications. This highly visible role includes frequent interaction with the Marketing & Communications Leadership Team (MCLT), the broader finance organization, & other key internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

Provide proactive analytical insight to the CMCO & MCLT

  • Provide analysis & strategic advice as a trusted business partner to the CMCO & MCLT

  • Develop robust business cases for global marketing investments

  • Partner with Marketing Analytics & Strategy & Planning teams to evaluate results of marketing investments

  • Develop analytical approach to size appropriate level of marketing investment

  • Lead analysis to deliver insights about financial performance & develop solutions to ensure Marketing & Communications meets financial commitments

  • Play a lead role in the development of Marketing Services business, including developing pricing strategy & tools, implementing pipeline tracking, & identifying margin expansion strategies

  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing & the Agency Center of Excellence to identify, evaluate, & measure opportunities to improve efficiency

    Lead financial reporting, forecasting, & budgeting for Marketing & Communications

  • Establish efficient processes to provide actionable monthly & quarterly reporting & ensure accountability

  • Lead forecast & budget processes that support effective decision-making

  • Simplify & automate processes

  • Develop tools to enable dynamic decision making to optimize marketing spend across quarters

Collaborate with regional teams to drive marketing decisions & results

  • Provide a consolidated point of view on Marketing & Communications globally

  • Lead community of regional Finance counterparts & Marketing Strategy & Planning teams to ensure alignment on forecasts, budgets, & actual results

  • Coordinate & manage analytical requests with other global & regional functions

Lead high-performing team

  • Attract, recruit, & retain top talent into the Finance organization

  • Mentor & manage a team of six

  • Contribute active leadership to the broader Finance organization

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

Financial Leadership

  • Drives sound decision-making through effective forecasting, reporting, & analysis of results & business drivers

  • Expert at structuring, managing, & communicating complex analysis, working across functions & with multiple stakeholders

  • Drives an efficient & effective process for developing financial plans & analysis that links to the strategic objectives

  • Creates meaningful & actionable performance metrics to drive accountability & ownership

  • Ensures the highest level of effectiveness & continued skill development of the FP&A team

Professional

  • MBA or relevant graduate degree from top-tier institution or similar academic experience

  • 15+ years of financial experience with 4-5 years' experience in top tier strategy consulting or corporate strategic planning preferred

  • Experience with global marketing organizations strongly preferred

  • Superior analytical & problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual & analytical rigor

  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment

  • Advanced level of Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint required

  • Travel to multiple facilities & global locations may be required

Business Leadership

  • Strong executive presence & ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior executives

  • Strong interpersonal & leadership skills to influence & build credibility as a "peer" with marketing leaders & Finance colleagues

  • Superior strategic thought leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate & influence successfully within a highly matrixed organization

  • Strong project management skills & demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives across a breadth of stakeholders.

  • Collaborative, diplomatic, & flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral & writing capabilities

Team Leadership

  • 8+ years' experience in leading & managing a globally matrixed team

  • Committed to developing a team & building a strong succession pipeline for the future

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire a team with a strategic vision

  • Ability to be an effective coach & have challenging employee conversations when necessary

Additional Information

Travel Requirements
This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit & stand at a desk, communicate in person & by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones & computers, & reach with hands & arms.
